Jun. 22nd, 2011 02:13 pmI was asked about permission to podfic one of my stories a few days back, and while I'm going to put it into my user info/masterlist I figured I'd say here too. If anyone ever wants to do that it's fine, permission is granted.
I've been catching up on LJ this morning, next up is DW which will take all of ten minutes as the majority of people I have there cross post from LJ and I always read and comment on that site first. Then it's comment replies, emails and then hopefully reading something tonight. So yeah, plans to actually do something productive, as opposed to the last few days where I've spent a lot of time thinking about stories I want to read. Which today is mostly vampire fic due to the neck picspam I posted at Mikeyway_daily.
Though you don't need fangs to appreciate his neck. Breath play would be nice too, or general neck nibbling and licking. Or collars, or something set around Desolation Row, either AU or video shoot that involves that chain around his neck.
Chain around his neck. Prison cells. Hotness. This is why I get nothing done, people.
Okay, right. Other things. I watched the last episode of Game of Thrones and then of course needed to go buy the books so I can find out what happens next. I did try to get them from the library but struck out there, so buying it is.
The garden is going great. All the plants are growing nicely, the courgettes especially. A few days back I re-potted the flowers into bigger pots and put them on the wall that's between our house and the neighbours, so when I look out of the window they're right in my line of vision. There are two pots of marigolds up there and I'm looking forward to when they've got actual flowers.
James is going to be trained up to take actual 999 calls as opposed to the more minor ones he does now. That's the job he's always wanted so he's happy, he's also going back to work today after being off for two days, and was ill for one of them. Yesterday we paid for Corey to go to London with school, so he's happy too.
I saw dad on Sunday, but as he was having a pretty bad speech day and my brother, niece and nephew were there too we didn't get to talk much. But still, it was a good if hectic visit.
All in all we're just pottering on, but that's just fine :)

Date: 2011-06-22 06:46 pm (UTC)Isn't spending time thinking about what stories you want to read a little unproductive? Wouldn't it be better if to just read them? ;-P
Nice to hear that the garden is thriving. I hope your marigolds start flowering soon.
Good for James! It sucks that he was sick on one of his free days though. Ooooh, Corey got to go to London! He's such a big boy now ;-)

Date: 2011-06-22 07:40 pm (UTC)I do have people here that I enjoy reading a lot, but most don't post regularly.
Well they don't exist or I would. The world doesn't bend itself to my will and magically produce the fic I want. Because the world is mean!
Hopefully they will. I need more colour than courgette flowers.
I have no sympathy for James as he had an upset stomach and then ate anyway. Okay, I have some as he really was sick, but he needs to learn to listen.

Date: 2011-06-22 08:32 pm (UTC)It really is good. I helped her with story beta and she ended up with something fantastic. I especially loved her background characters, Elena kicked ass.

Date: 2011-06-22 08:37 pm (UTC)Elena is so wonderful in that story. When she bullies the spaceship into the trunk of the car!

Date: 2011-06-23 12:05 pm (UTC)That's a cool idea, you should get to enjoy your accomplishments. :)
And yay for James's upcoming job, it's awesome that he gets to work towards his dream job.

Date: 2011-06-24 06:11 am (UTC)Yay garden! Go you with the repotting! And I'm so pleased for James to get to be doing his chosen work. And that you got to see your dad, however chaotic it was. (())

Date: 2011-06-25 08:32 pm (UTC)Not that I have much experience with it, but I've always loved repotting plants. BTW, having them in your field of vision sounds like an excellent idea. *g*
And, finally, yay for James getting the job he's always wanted. \o/

Date: 2011-06-26 07:19 pm (UTC)It seems to be going forward, and in many ways it'll be fantastic, but at the same time. I like my time pottering alone. Plus, taking emergency calls in our spare bedroom. That's still boggling to me.

Date: 2011-06-27 05:12 pm (UTC)Repotting plants is very therapeutic, though I need to learn the secret of doing so without getting covered in soil.
Thank you ♥

Thank you :D

Date: 2011-06-22 03:03 pm (UTC)Your gardening updates are happy-making. Is it only marigolds in pots outside your window, or are there other flowers waiting to show your their floral jazzhands?
Oh boy! Terri podfic!!! What fic are they doing?

Hmmmmmm... how about this. Gerard and Mikey are vampire hunters, with Mikey being vamp bait. They take turns, of course - Gerard refuses to let Mikey *be* bait, otherwise - but the truth of the matter is they have much better luck when it's Mikey out there, wearing t-shirts with the necks ripped and stretched wide. One night, they're out trolling for undead suckers [ha] at a club and they run into Pete. Who is a vampire.

Date: 2011-06-22 03:12 pm (UTC)I have other flowers too, ones I can't remember the name of right now, sadly. But when they open they should look like fluffy, colourful balls. As you can see I'm still very much a novice gardener. As shown by my poor pepper plant, which wasn't growing that well, and then I noticed we'd forgot to put drainage in the recycled pot and the poor thing was swimming. When I knocked in holes it drained for hours.
We've also got ground cover flowers, those are in another old drawer as we ran out of pots. That's in front of the window, and I'm liking the contrast of blue wood, Thomas the Tank stickers and the tiny white flowers just starting to blossom.
They're doing When Day Is Night Alone, which I'm kind of, wow, about. That's going to take a lot of talking.

So, right now I just flailed in a most embarrassing manner. Pete the vampire and Mikey with that neck. It's meant to be! Will there be biting? Does Gerard neck block and then go to spike Pete?

Date: 2011-06-22 04:06 pm (UTC)also understandable about dw. I've gotten where I only post fic and stuff relating to fic on there and I never really intended to have my dw as my fic journal*hands*
