I hate the new BT/Yahoo browser with a passion. It's cartoon like, is full of software that I don't want nor need and I can't get rid of the thing. I downloaded Opera as suggested, and use that mostly, but as soon as I click on a link in OE the Yahoo/BT browser is brought up as OE is packaged as part of it. Then I have to pick which profile to use and sign in before it links up. Which is annoying as all the profiles are me anyway as they're based on e-mail addies.

I was on the phone to tech support last night as I just can't get Google to work *or* Yahoo search engine. I can get to individual pages fine but those just don't work. All Google keeps saying is there is no website configured at this address when I try the URL. I tried alta vista and a few others and same thing, until eventually I found a search engine that worked, Dogpile. I can't understand why it's just those types of site that bug out.

One good thing after James sat changing settings like I have for the last few *months* he's finally come round to the idea that we really have to change ISP. I tried to resist saying 'now you see what I go through' at him, I really did.

We're thinking AOL, I know you like it Jenny, but anyone else use it, or have any other broadband recs?

We've always been very happy with Demon. We've had a connection with them for about 8 years, and when broadband *finally* arrives at our exchange next month, we'll be getting that with them too.

I've been checking Demon out and it does score high on the ISP rating sites I've seen. The only thing putting me off, and I know this makes me look cheap, is the cost to join. All the big ISP's offer free connection and Demon's is £50. But you know I think it might be worth it to get good service.

Thanks :) Oh and thanks for the Opera and Note tab links too. I've been happily learning how to use them.

I've had AOL for about seven years now, and most of the time I'm happy with it.

Lately, it's been annoying me, though, because the new spam filters are overly protective and sometimes filter out actual, real mail that I want while still allowing some spam to get through.

Also, because AOL is so incredibly easy to use, it has a reputation of being used by newbies, so sometimes people automatically assume that if you have AOL, you must be a clueless newbie who just discovered the internet yesterday. Which can be really, really irritating.

Other than the current overprotective spam filter, though, I haven't had any real problems with it, and I kinda like it. Plus, I'm too lazy to change it after seven years!

That filter thing is one of the problems I'm having with AOL from the other side and one of the reasons I'm a little dubious about getting it. One of my friends has AOL and her ISP keep bouncing some mails that I send as spam. I keep getting 'AOL won't allow mails from a BT server to go through' bounces.

It's frustrating as I used to mail almost daily and I miss that so much. But then BT joined Yahoo and AOL went spam crazy and it all went to hell.

Thanks for the input, I'll take your mail as a thumbs up for AOL.

Yeah, AOL!

Ifya get AOL we can chat whenever we're both online at the same time! Wheee!

I've had it for almost 8 years, and have had virtually no problems with it. As stated in another reply, some people may think you're a newbie weenie, but you know what? The hell with those people! It really annoys me, people who think that using an ISP that makes things more difficult makes them "Smarter" or something. I think it makes them stupider! Geez, life is complicated enough, why add more by using a pain in the ass ISP? WhatEVER....

Besides, if we were both on AOL, it would make it SO much easier to send each other smut....

A soft moan spilled from Brennan's lips and his fingers tore at the sheets, drowning in the feeling of Jesse's tongue-
