Over the last few days I've been enjoying comment conversations about h/c tropes and how much I love to read them and also want to see more stories with them. Seriously, I was shameless, someone I didn't know at the time mentioned thinking of organising a h/c challenge and I was right in there going, do it!

And she has. teaforbryony has a poll up asking about interest in a h/c challenge. If you're interested go here and let her know. Think about it, kidnappings and dire situations and fighting to survive against cruel odds, wouldn't you like to read/write that? It's the challenge of my dreams. So go, vote, tell her how awesome she is.

At the moment I'm writing the final story in the Tints of Rainbow Hue universe. I was thinking about it last night, specifically about POV. The first story alternated between Ray and Gerard's pov, the coda between Mikey and Frank. This last story has started in Bob's pov but I'm not sure where to go with the second. It's very much the story of what happens to Gerard and Bob, which suggests it should be Gerard, but I have plans for Mikey/Frank that would be made a little distant if I don't use one of them -- Frank fixes up a garden for Mikey, there are fairy lights in trees and music, Mikey pretending he doesn't care as Frank gives him the prom Mikey never got or wanted, but that doesn't matter because they both love it anyway. Why yes, I am indulging my sappy side. Can you tell?

I suppose I could go for three povs but my personal preference is one, so that's pushing it a little. Oh well, it'll sort itself out I'm sure. If not I'll just talk people's ears off in email.

On twitter Mikey said this MCR announcement tomorrow AM when I get into the office, around 10. Check the site.< So, what do you think it is? New music? Touring? Video? Mikey announcing the band have adopted a new look and are going for pastels now? I want to know!

I love how he talks about going into the office! Think he has his own desk? *g*

POV is hard. That's why I usually stick to just one. My guess is that if you aren't going to go for Bob and Gerard, then Bob and Mikey would work the best for giving Gerard's side of the story, without his POV. Or maybe I'm just biased. *G*

I said I would perhaps participate in the challenge. It depends on how it fits around the big bangs.

I don't think it's him personally going to the office, he was re-twitting something by another Twitter user I don't know - presumably someone who works with them ... in an office! lol

OH! Is that what RT stands for? I never knew. Yeah, I went and checked- it was referencing a Jeff Watson twitter, so it makes more sense. He certainly has a desk in the office. *g*

I think RT is basically the same thing as forwarding something? But I'm no Twitter expert :)

Despite the reality, I still think he should have a desk, they all should. That would be awesome. Mikey and Gerard's could be covered in action figures and stickers on their computers, and be facing each other of course *g*

You're totally biased, and I love you for that. Bob and Gerard is the most logical way to go, but oh, the garden scene. Though I suppose seeing it second hand could work just as well.

I am also all a-flutter with that announcement - I actually sent castalie & moimoietmoi an email just now asking what timezone they think the office is in, just so I know when to start refreshing!

I'm thinking it might be something linked to their Japan summer gig, like a contest or something? Although "we've decided to tour small venues in France" would be cool, too, I'm not picky *g*

Well it's on the way I guess. Japan, stop off at France for intimate club tours. And hey, while they're doing that it would make sense to hop over the ocean and travel the UK too :D

It's like, my favourite thing in fic and a whole challenge would be awesome! It would give me an excuse to write purely indulgent h/c fic. Oh. My. Squee!

Well, POV wise Gerard and Bob make the most sense for sure. I mean, I'm talking about Mikey and Frank here but their story will be the background one. It's just I was sitting last night and thinking of the garden scene and it was like, damn. How am I going to make that work?

The follow up to When Day is Night Alone, specifically dealing with Jon looking for Tom. The deadline is October and I can work with that, especially as I was disappointed at having to drop out of BBB.

R.e. garden-verse story, maybe you could have Gerard and Bob POV with the Frank and Mikey thing going on sort of in the background, and then have sort of a moment at the very end that's Frank's or Mikey's POV that spins off the main story and brings their romantic moment to the forefront? Like a little epilogue sort of thing?

That's cool that you're doing the RPF Big Bang! 15,000 words seems pretty low-pressure, too, which is awesome.

That's a solution that never occurred to me, but it could work because the more I think of it the more I know this needs to be in Gerard and Bob's pov.

I have been craving a 'Spencer is Kidnapped' story forever. It's Spencer! Ryan would be falling apart, Jon would try to be strong for Ryan, and Brendon (who maybe just started secretly dating Spencer?) is forced to deal with the media/ransom notes/FBI/whatever else pops up. Spencer would eventually save himself, because, duh, Spencer. He would, of course, have some injuries that totally need kisses and cuddles and sex to fix.

Umm, so yes, I may have been contemplating this scenario a lot lately. *g*

A h/c challenge is my dream challenge. I'm so excited about it.

I hope I finish too. It's partly why I joined as I flaked on the bandom big bang. But 15k isn't that long, so. Fingers crossed.
