It looks like it's going to be a lazy day spent puttering around in the house. James is off helping with a bbq and Corey's wrapped up in his quilt playing on his computer.

Twitter remains the best thing ever. From Mikey and Pete's continued conversations -- Pete told Mikey to move into his pool house ♥ -- to Chris tweeting a pic about getting his latest tattoo.

Which reminds me of the most delicious dream I had last night. Where I was hanging out in a room full of people that included Mikey and Pete. They were squashed on the end of a couch and Pete had his arms around Mikey, not making out or anything, just holding him close as they talked to other people and I was so happy that they were allowing me to see that they were really together. What was weird, though, was

saba1789 was there, which made sense, but also

adelate who has no interest in bandom at all.

I was privileged to get a sneak peek of

nopsued's trickyfish story Serious. It's so good and her voices are amazing. When I read I commented that it's the kind of story that reminds me why I love popslash so much, and that still stands. So go, read, enjoy. Tell her how much she rocks.

This year's dragon challenge stories were posted yesterday. I'm going to try and get those read today, because dragons. I also need to get them read because the Bandom Big Bang starts posting tomorrow and I may be very excited about that! So much fic, omg!

Chris with braces -- I'm not sure I can even explain why I love Chris with braces so much. It's just one of those kinks that came out of nowhere when I first saw the pictures. I'm sure you've all had those moments when you see/watch something and it's like, oh holy hell! I know in reality they'd have been a pain, but my goodness. He looks hot with them. I know, I'm a freak. I made peace with that a long time ago.

Thankfully I have awesome friends who indulge me terribly and write braces fic, which is good because I do like to read about it. Metallic careful kisses and the opportunity for dentist related stories which result in petting, painkillers and soup. Which I suppose explains some of the attraction, but not the fact that I find them visually hot. I don't know. There's no explaining it really. But yeah, Chris in the euro days with his messy hair and skinny body, dark eyes and braces. Most favourite ever!

crack!fic -- Crack fic is fun! I like stories that don't take themselves seriously and yet work. Popslash is very much a fandom where crackfic is encouraged and enjoyed, and more significantly, not seen as a bad thing. People turning into animals, furniture, gaining wings, tails, flying, anything really. Popslash has been there, done that, got the t-shirt -- that's probably Joey in clothing form.

While I have written stuff in bandom that can be called crackfic, it's by no way the amount that I did in popslash. It's funny how that happens, and it's not like I think I'd be run out of bandom if I did, I mean, Gerard the table attracted a lot of interest. It's just how it is I guess.

When done well crackfic can be amazing. Two sesas ago

msktrnanny wrote me The Rest, As They Say, Is History and it's got this one section that could be called pure crack, but it works so well and it's something that, so many months later, I can still remember vividly, because it was both sad and just plain awesome. So it's important to realise there's a difference between badfic and crackfic. And also to remember that Cramp is not actually crackfic, as Lamp is a person, too! If a very glassy and wax filled one.

Mutant X -- Oh, Mutant X, how much do I love you and how much do I mourn that you were taken off the air?

The thing is, I love mutants in general, so when this show came along with very hot mutants I was very excited. Season one was amazing and I fell instantly in love with Brennan. He was mega hot, cool, collected, just this all over amazing guy. I loved that they became a team that kicked ass and saved lives and that Jesse and Brennan got married in the second episode -- they did, shut up! Sadly the show changed a lot over the next two seasons. For some reason Sanctuary got redesigned without anyone mentioning the fact at all. Adam left, Emma died and Brennan turned into an alpha male jerk. Who I still loved, don't get me wrong, but I missed that first season vibe so badly.

I was gone on MX. I wrote, I squeed, I set up a slash archive, I had a blast. Sadly I also made mistakes and a tight friendship blew up in a spectacular manner, which is something I regret happening. Still, MX brought me

ninjetti75, and for that I'll always be grateful.

Corey and James -- My boys. Or for people who don't know, my other half and my son. They're both awesome and I love them loads, but man, do they bicker. Corey's just turned 13 and is turning into a stereotypical teenager. James is a lot older than 13 but has a quick temper so they rub each other up the wrong way on daily basis. Not all the time but enough it drives me nuts. I mean, yesterday they were arguing over what colour golden syrup is, and really, does it matter? No it does not.

They've both got their faults. Like I said, James is very quick tempered and has this habit of copying what I say when we argue which is something I hate. Corey has developed this sarcastic streak, thinks he knows everything and just plain doesn't think at times. But their good points way outweigh the bad and I love them. A lot.

Caravans -- I'd imagine this was picked because we used to go away with the in-laws to Butlins every year. Let me tell you, 6 adults, one pre-teen, one toddler and a baby in one caravan does not make for a relaxing holiday. Each year people ended up fighting and man, just remembering is making a shiver go down my spine. I really like my in-laws, but that much close contact for a full week? Not so much. The worst and most vivid memory is of the first year where I was on the veranda of the caravan playing with my niece. I was sitting close to the toilet window, happened to look around and saw the FiL had gone to the toilet, dropped his trousers and pants and turned around, not realising you could see everything through the frosted window. I can still remember sitting frozen, trying to think what to do or say, because there's no good way to say, hey, FiL, I've just seen everything you've got.

I'll leave my other 5 things for next time, this has taken me 5 hours as it is. In that time James has come back with bbq leftovers and the porn battle has gone live! With very awesome prompts. I have some over there, I hope they're picked up.
