Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] krabbypatty. I hope you have a good day <3

The wedding was a lot of fun on Saturday, though when we arrived we nearly ended up crashing another wedding party when we saw people watching a bride and groom get their pictures taken, went to look, and it wasn't Sharren and Nick. We did find them eventually though. The party was held at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland AFC's ground. Getting to the actual room they'd booked involved a lot of stairs and wandering. Which meant I wasn't at all impressed when I found out there was a lift straight down when we came out.

They'd hired a live band -- Loudmouth -- for part of the entertainment, and they lived up to their name, they were loud. Also, very awesome. They class themselves in the punk rock genre and it was so much fun watching them, though my ears were ringing at the end as all the table were really close to where they'd set up. They'd let the bride's teenage son play bass on one song, and it's surprising how noticeable not-so-good bass playing can be. He had a blast, though, and at the end of the evening left with signed CDs for him and his friend.

What I also liked about the party was the people. James knows Sharren from the school for the disabled they both used to attend, and Nick is part of the alternative scene, so the mix was cool. There was one guy who reminded me so strongly of Joey, with an awesome dyed beard and hair and so many beautiful tattoos, one woman had an amazing sleeve. I was very impressed.

We didn't stay that late as Corey was bored out of his skull, but before I left I'd had a nice chat with James' old art teacher and enjoyed good music, and yeah. It was a lovely night. But man, the drinks prices. Ouch. It cost more for two cokes and a larger than it would for a full meal for us all elsewhere.

I'm very amused at the beard debate going on at Frank's twitter picture. People hate the beard, they love the beard. Screw the waistcoat, the beard is where it's at.

I seem to have lost the ability to write anything short /o\

I read [livejournal.com profile] sinsense's Thing-Thing yesterday and loved it, my favourite part by far was the Way brother interaction, but I enjoyed it all, even though some parts hurt to read. I have so many stories listed to read right now, including [livejournal.com profile] mahoni's epic story The Uncharted Sea. It looks so good!

How comes there is never a punk rock band on Polish weddings? :( Ok, I'm not saying all of them, but I've never heard about one without rural music.

And those guests! *smiles* Had to be awesome wedding, with bearded and tattooed guys around. :D

You know, what I can't get it's why people have even this urge to tell Frank they hate him with beard? Like he would actually care. It's his face and his choice. Tbh at the beginning I wasn't sure about this beard thing either, but it wasn't like I was sharing my thoughts with him. Then I used to it, and I think he look cute. ;D (and it's for [livejournal.com profile] maryangel200 too ;D )

The Unhearted Sea looks good, but omg, more than 100,000 words? O____o I added it to my bookmarks anyway, but I don't really know, if I have time to read it. O.o

I have to admit, it's the first wedding I've been to with a live punk rock band. The groom's dad was rocking on down in his wedding suit. It was fantastic.

The guests were fun, and some of the ink. Oh my goodness, I enjoyed looking at it all.

I can't get it's why people have even this urge to tell Frank they hate him with beard? Like he would actually care

Exactly! I'm sure he doesn't give a damn if people like his beard or not, and that's exactly how it should be.

Yeah, it's a long story, I can't wait to jump into it, but I need a nice stretch of time first.

The wedding sounds fabulous! Punk rock and awesome tattooed guests - beautiful as it was I do kind of wish my sister's wedding had been more like that :-)

I think Frank looks adorable in his silly beard, but the waistcoat is terrible!

Not being able to write short things doesn't sound very bad to me ;-) What is it you're writing now that's refusing to stay short?

I'm on chapter 9 of The Uncharted Sea right now. IT'S SO GOOD!!! But totally harrowing at the same time, she really doesn't pull any punches.

Oh dear, not only a psychopaht but a DERANGED psychopath! You're not going for subtlety with this story I think ;-) And no, 36k can't really be called "short" but if that's the lenght the story want to be I guess there is no way of stopping it.

Speaking of stuff you're writing, how is the Garden 'verse coda coming along?

It's so fantastic, the way she can move from gruesome horror to stunning beauty!

Ahahaha, no, all subtlety went out of the window within a few words. I know my audience ;)

The Garden 'verse is coming on nicely. I decided to make it my rpf big bang because no way will it be under 20k, plus, this way I may get awesome art, which is something I've always wanted for these stories.

You're such a temptress!

Did you ever read Thing-Thing btw?

That sounds like a great idea! When are those going to be posted? Sometime in September, wasn't it, or am I misremembering?

No, that's still on my to-read list. I didn't get round to reading her story last year either until a couple of months afterwards.

I'm glad the party was fun! That's excellent to hear.

I read Thing_thing, but I skipped all the Frank/Gerard bits (so most of the story) The Way's interactions totally made it worthwhile, though, you are right.

I think Frank looks cute with his beard! I can't believe people are telling him they hate him with his beard! That's so rude.

It was fun. I wasn't expecting it to be, shows what I know.

I've just finished babbling to you about Thing-Thing *g* So all I'll say is Ways! ♥

It is rude. People annoy me at times, let the man look how he wants!

September is when first drafts need to be done, posting starts in October, which seems like ages away but I think I need that time to make the story as good as it can be.

A punk band at a wedding reception! How FUN!

Are you writing an epic??? What is it about??

I have piles and piles of stories to read also. My 'toread' tag at my delicious is v. long. o_o

EDIT: *deletes some stuff because, hahaha, oh geez, that was technically a spoiler wasn't it. Um. In my defense, it is something that comes up pretty much right away in the story! UM.

It was awesome! The groom does an act where he does such things as swing bins from his ear lobes, also his dick when not on tv. So I knew it would be no normal wedding party.

Well, hopefully they're not epics. I'm trying to stick to one a year *g*

It's a sequel to Tints of Rainbow Hue, a story I wrote where Ray has a gardening firm and Gerard really serious depression. I promised Turlough a story up the time line a little, where Gerard and Bob are getting together and Gee is functioning a little better. The original Tints story is 17k if I remember rightly, this is going to be bigger for sure.

I have so much fic to read. It's awesome, and also a little scary.

Oh wow, I'm sorry! I've no idea where I got space from, I swear, sometimes my head is up in space. But I love your idea from before you edited it out \o/

It was fun. Every wedding should have a punk rock band to liven it up.

Man, if only those stories would just beam out of my head.

I totally meant to comment James' entry and then time flew and I didn't and I'm commenting in your LJ instead which, sorry James, I promise I'll go and comment to yours right after I'm done with this one!

The wedding sounds pretty awesome :-)

So have you read The Uncharted Sea? Was it what you expected?

OMG! First, The Uncharted Sea was amazing! Seriously, hands down it's the best story I've read for a long time. It's a dream come true for h/c lovers, and Mahoni's world building and story telling is perfection.

I started reading and couldn't stop. It's just, whoa. Mikey broke my heart, Jon, Bob, the whole lot of them.

Yeah, I liked it *g*

The wedding was cool, the best one I've been to for a while. Which isn't saying much I know, but still.
