Happy birthday ~T!
Aug. 5th, 2009 12:20 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I logged on this morning and LJ was back to normal, thank goodness, the only way I could access the site at all yesterday was to adblock a lot of the LJ generated content. Apparently it came down to some technical issue involving Sky/Easynet networks which resulted in horribly slow/no service at all for many UK users over the last week. LJ gets a lot of crap at times but they've dealt with this quickly and well once they were aware of a problem. So, props to them.
I'm sure everyone that's interested has seen anyway, but I posted a Mikey at The Roxy picspam over at
mikeyway_daily yesterday.
msktrnanny thank you so much for the postcard *mwah*
Now onto the main part of this post. It's the birthday of one of my favourite people today. If you don't know
crowgirl13 you're missing out because she's all kinds of awesome.
~T, I wish I had something just for you, but I haven't Well, unless you wanted insane sappy snuggie fic which I'm sure you don't Instead, as it was you that encouraged me to include him, have a snippet from the new Tints verse where Brian comes back into Bob's life.
Bob nods and makes his way forward, standing toward the back of the crowd that's gathered. The bus pulls to a stop with a groan of brakes and the door at the front opens, people spilling out from inside. A man with a laptop bag over his shoulder. Two young girls, giggling as they step to the ground. A woman carrying a baby in a yellow blanket and then, a boy and girl who have to be the grandchildren of the woman at the bench. Bob watches as they tumble from the bus, followed by their mother who grins wide as they run into the arms of the old lady.
Then finally, when most people on the bus have already exited, Brian. He's carrying a small bag and when he sees Bob he changes direction, weaving through the crowd that have clustered together as they wait to claim baggage.
"Jesus fucking Christ, Bryar. What happened? You're fucking skinny."
Self-consciously, Bob shrugs, he's lost a lot of weight this last year, dropping pounds as he worked hard in the gardens. It's something he forgets about mostly, he's never been vain and wears what's comfortable, not what looks good. Still, sometimes he catches glimpses of himself in the mirror, and double-takes at the tanned, muscled guy who looks back in return.
Brian looks Bob from head to toe. "You think you're too good to give me some love?"
Bob grins then, pulling Brian into a brief hug. "I see you haven't grown."
"And you're still an asshole," Brian says, and grabs hold of Bob's hair, giving it a tug. "Who do you think you are? The Fabio of the gardening world?"
"Fuck off, I haven't had time for a cut, is all," Bob says, and looks toward the driver, who's piling cases and bags in front of the bus. "You got any more baggage?"
Brian holds up his bag. "Just this."
Bob eyes the small bag, doubtful it's big enough for even one change of outfit. "That's all you've brought?"
"That's all I've got to bring," Brian says, and for the first time Bob sees the strain he's trying to keep hidden. It reminds him of when they first met, both of them damaged, but forging a friendship that quickly became solid.
"Fair enough," Bob says, and starts to head toward the exit, knowing it's pointless asking Brian to talk now. "There's not much edible at my place, so I figured we'd order in pizza."
"Nice way to treat a guest," Brian says, walking at Bob's side. "Have you even got somewhere for me to sleep?"
"You're taking the floor." Bob doesn't even try to hide his grin at Brian's glare. He's missed this guy.
And now I'm off to catch up on being able to actually comment and write more of the ridiculously self-indulgent h/c scene I've got going on. I tell you, I'll send this to beta and they'll demand I cut out thousands of words.
ETA: More bandom boyband fic! Gabe the choreographer has turned up \o/

I always feel like the flaky weirdo friend, that one that makes you grin with their crazy, but is easily released into the turmoil of the world.
I...
I don't even know what to say to the rest of your comment, and should prolly not say anything in Terri's LJ anyway. But. Thank you.
Thanks don't even start to cover my feelings for your words.

Tintsverse Brian and BOB!!!!!! Oh joy! *gleefaces at you* This is so awesome - marvelous interaction between the pair of them. I think this really captures the dynamic of the relationship, why I really *love* BobandBrian. And it gives Tints Bob some more back story. And AND it introduces Brian so well... I'm all worried about him and why he only has one wee bag. But! *claps* I can't wait to see how this all fits into the story! Thank you for sharing this, Terri!

Did you see who's on the MCR calendar for August? Good planning on the Universe's part, I reckon. :)

You know, no one does h/c outtakes... you could change that. :)

Date: 2009-08-05 01:35 pm (UTC)I'm loving writing Bob and Brian. They're fun together, especially when Brian really is a fail gardener and spends most of his time glaring at the weeds. But yes, his little wee bag. *pets him*
I did! It's a great shot too, even though the photoshopping still drives me nuts.
Oh man, I have over 2k of Mikey being sick and haven't finished yet. It's an important set up for things that happen later, but still. 2k plus /o\
