I enjoyed the interview a lot, and not just for the prominence of the boots o' sex.
The questions that prompted these tweets from Frank made me so angry. Way to stay classy.
I've started my bandom_hc story and it's nicely underway. The rpf big bang draft has been read and I've been assured it doesn't suck, so all is well writing wise. Now I just need to send the draft to the mods and create a summary. I have a title, Grey Crimson Skies, but a summary not so much.

Date: 2009-08-26 10:20 am (UTC)Now that he actually said it I can see the moon face (water weight because of steroids, my mom gets it because of the predinsone shes on). It makes sense to me now.
Frank could have been a down right bastard about it. (It's Frank. Frank and Tact don't go together a lot of the times) But he did explain it, probably not the right media outlet and because of people who asked him that might shy away from things more then he already does. I mean Mikey today even said he was now scared of social networking (even though he just called Twitter a chain letter no one realizes yet).
Leave the guys alone. *pouty face* Making Frank explain stuff, caling Ray Toro fat (STILL NOT OVER IT) Scaring Mikey away from social networking (be social Mikeyway. No really) Bob's already out of the game, Gerard is distracted by Lady B but does the block thing.
*flaily hands* /end rant
(I will forever and always think Frank just put on baby weigth instead of Gerard. Leave me to my happy place. :) )

Date: 2009-08-26 10:34 am (UTC)Thank you! Is Gray the correct spelling for USians? It's not coming up wrong on spell check but I'm doubting myself.

Date: 2009-08-26 11:18 am (UTC)Sometimes I make the mistake of reading what people are tweeting to them, and some of the comments go way beyond the line of what's appropriate. Some fans are so entitled it makes me sick.
That they reply to fans at all is an amazing thing, and that will go if people continue to be so ridiculous in what they ask and demand. Asking really personal questions, repeatedly going on about abortion, shoving fic in their faces. Why would anyone think that's okay?
I don't blame Bob for going, and I just hope that the others hang in there.
That is a good happy place. I approve.

Date: 2009-08-26 11:34 am (UTC)You're right about the ask and demand of the guys (not just my chem). Everyone has the fans that go out of line. Its an easy way to communicate but it also brings out the crazies.
(Seriously, I think if Zack could he would censor Brendon and Spencers Twitters half the time. The Don't Be Creepy speech will now extend to twitter!)
Bob was always the very private one I think getting him to do it in the first place would have been like pulling teeth. I think the others will. Ray is too nice to give it up. Gerard is playing with the block button, he's doing four things at the moment, being dad!gee, rockstar!gee, Movie concept!gee and Comic!gee. Frank can hold his own, he has before and he will again. Mikey is Mikey. It's hard to tell what he's going to do. He'll probably stick it out but today might have just been a n off day, you know?
I love my happy place. You should join me.

Date: 2009-08-26 11:47 am (UTC)That video amusing. I like how Ray politely manages to get a word in past Gerard ;) Even Bob voluntarily speaks.
Now I must go read Bob as Batman :)

Date: 2009-08-26 12:20 pm (UTC)Getting a word past Gerard is a tricky thing. You have to be dedicated *g*
It's an awesome story!

Date: 2009-08-26 12:27 pm (UTC)And those tweets, ugh! I hang around civilized people in fandom so regularly I forget the crazies are out there, and it always makes me equally sick.

Date: 2009-08-26 12:38 pm (UTC)And way to go with the writing! \o/
~~~
As horrible as the question was, I admit that I prefer knowing what's going on with Frank. Yes, it's not my business really, but I was *worried*. And now... okay, I'm still worried, but I have a reason to be worried. :)
[Honestly, I was going on the 'finally got married, gained weight due to happiness' theory. But OF COURSE its because he's sick! *facepalms*]
But really, I wish that people would stop being entitled assholes.
Date: 2009-08-26 01:02 pm (UTC)YES! George Lamb, he's fun.
When I saw his replies I knew I'd get annoyed at the questions, that they were both slashy and insulting made me doubly so.
Date: 2009-08-26 01:08 pm (UTC)Talking of boys in peril.... Thank you *g*
It's a fine line we walk in wanting to know things and knowing we have no right to do so. I can understand the urge to want to know personal details, I talk about that stuff myself and speculate often. But you have to know when to stop, and a lot of people don't.
I always thought it was because he'd stopped touring. Chris was exactly the same, having the body type that meant he'd put on weight when he wasn't performing pretty much daily. I figured Frank would drop weight as soon as he was back on the road. But, I should have known better. Like you said, of course it was medical.
Date: 2009-08-26 01:16 pm (UTC)I bet Zack's creepdar must be going off constantly in terms of twitter. Sadly it's not like people can be throw out unlike M&Gs.
I think you're right, they will stick it out. They all have to have thick skins and at least on twitter they have an element of control. What I love about their tweets is so often Mikey and Frank are really sarcastic. Frank overtly so, but Mikey can really get the zings in at times.
I will join you. We will have a crazy free zone.
Date: 2009-08-26 01:28 pm (UTC)Brendon: ... theres 4 people left.
Zack: Yup.
Brendon: I'm unblocking Pete.
Zack: Fine.
Yeah. The guys are just tough like that
\o/ crazy free is good. (two words in crazy free zone Iero Spawn. Baby wright needs to equal Iero Spawn!)
Date: 2009-08-26 01:40 pm (UTC)That interview is funny. I like how Mikey's the only one that hasn't been cut up by Frank, though it reminds me of that video where Frank tries attacking Mikey anyway. Sure, maybe Mikey's been able to dodge it, but that doesn't mean Frank's not after him XD
Date: 2009-08-26 02:14 pm (UTC)When I saw what Frank said, I immediately did NOT want to know what someone had said to get that response, because it couldn't be anything other than tactless. What is wrong with people?
I'm bummed it's a medical issue though; poor Frank. That sucks. :(
Wow, Bob actually talks a couple of times in that interview without having to be prompted. :D And everybody being all "oh yeah, the worst time I got hurt was when Frank did something to me" -- hee! Frank's expression! <3
Awesome title for your story! Still really, really looking forward to reading it!!
I had to watch this video again. I love Frank's little face when they're talking about stage injuries. LOL
Date: 2009-08-26 03:26 pm (UTC)The problem with some fans is that they have a problem understanding the concept of 'distance' and 'fourth wall'. And twitter doesn't help. I prefer not reading the comments the guys receive over there because some of those comments are so incredibly inappropriate! I'd say that's no way to talk to someone you don't know, but in truth, it's just no way to talk to anyone, period.
Date: 2009-08-26 04:06 pm (UTC)I didn't see the originating tweets but if they were as offensive as you say then I'm very impressed by Frank. Being all calm and matter-of-fact towards someone who deserved one of his usual sarcastic-bordering-on-offensive replies. People really suck!
Go you! You're so disciplined with your writing. Also, that's a great title!
Date: 2009-08-26 04:22 pm (UTC)I was actually really heartened when I saw Gerard exercising his block finger upon his triumphant return. Since they started tweeting and blogging I've been afraid that the amount of crazy coming their way would ruin everything for the sane fans and make them flee the interwebs. But clearly they can handle the crazies and usually they do it quite calmly. They shouldn't have to do it because people should know that there is a line and it is not ok to cross it, but it seems like asking some people to show some respect is too much to ask for.
Date: 2009-08-26 06:31 pm (UTC)I was very impressed with how he answered. He must have been getting crap for putting on so much weight, but he's said why and I really do hope that's the end of it.
Thank you. It's so weird having it pretty much ready now and posting not being for ages yet. I'm very impatient.
Date: 2009-08-26 06:36 pm (UTC)People suck. I'll never get why some people think it's okay to ask deeply personal stuff like that. I think they're awesome for replying to anyone on twitter, and I'd hate to see them stop because some people don't get that there's a line you don't cross.
It does suck that it's a medical issue. Poor guy.
Man, Bob! He actually engaged with George and looked happy doing so. I was amazed. And yes! Frank's expression when this list of Frank-caused injuries was brought up cracked me up.
I'm glad you liked the title. I'm sure I've moaned to you before how much I hate them.
Date: 2009-08-26 06:39 pm (UTC)Hee, yes! I love that part so much.
Date: 2009-08-26 06:47 pm (UTC)Twitter really doesn't help the fourth wall issue. I know we've talked about this before but it's frustrating because I like knowing details, but at the same time I hate the idea that some people ask and say really personal things and forget just because we know their names and some details about them we don't actually know them.
Date: 2009-08-26 07:05 pm (UTC)They were very offensive. Like I said up thread, it was bad enough bringing in his weight but to do so in a slashy way was crossing way over the line. It's probably good that he did address it because it was being mentioned often. I just wish he didn't have to.
I've no choice but to be disciplined or I'd never be finished in time. And, thank you! It took me a ridiculously long time to think of it, but it has meaning and everything.
Date: 2009-08-26 07:08 pm (UTC)I was worried they'd be driven off too, but thankfully it looks like they are able to deal with the crazies. I wish they didn't have to, but I guess it's part of the job they learn quickly.
Oh no. I hope it turns around soon and your story starts going well.
Date: 2009-08-27 11:23 pm (UTC)And yay for Bob speaking! He's shy usually.
I'm kinda surprised I managed to understand the interviewer. For most times I have trouble with understanding British accent.
God, why people are so stupid. What gives them right to ask Frank why he gained weight? He could be ill or just eat too much junk food lately - nobody should care. People are too inquisitive, they don't know Frank, they aren't his family, they just don't have the right. Some are even so impertinent to tell him he looks worse than before. Wtf? And now when we know that it isn't his fault, how he has to feel when he hears he's fat and ugly? !@#$% &%##!#@$
Sorry, but that really pissed me off.
Date: 2009-08-29 12:04 pm (UTC)George has a lovely accent, unlike mine, which is very broad. Oh well, no accents in words.
No need to be sorry. Your rant is very much how I felt, how I feel every time nasty comments are made about how he looks. You're right, it's no one business but his own, and having to hear about how he looks bad has to hurt. I know he's got a thick skin, he has to have one to do the job he does, but no one should have to put up with stuff like that.
