This morning Tex fell over in the kitchen. While I was stroking his side I was thinking how an already bad week was going to go out on an almighty low note. In the end he managed to get up and wobbled into the garden. All stiff legs and milky eyes, his fur in those stupid tufts that never lie sleek and stupid flappy ears -- a puppy in an old dog's body.

Reading various mod notes it looks more than likely I'll be posting my rpf_big_bang story and the bandom_hc story close together, that is if I ever get the hc story finished, it's giving me issues right now. The worst outcome would be getting the same date for both, so fingers crossed that won't happen.

I'm tempted by bandom_au I love AUs a lot and world building is fun, but at the same time, challenge addiction is not a good thing.

The picture Shane posted of Ryan is beautiful. I've had it tabbed for days now.

Okay. Right. H/C story. Island time. Yes.

ETA: I suppose it would be cheating if I left Gerard unconscious for the whole story. It's very tempting, though.

It's been a week and a half with more to come, I'd like it to be this time next week. But what can you do but plod on?

I keep imagining having to post both on the same day. People would be sick of the sight of my name.

I'm over 7k in right now and all Gerard's done is lie clasped against Mikey's chest and be unconscious. It cuts my dialogue down nicely *g*

I can't even imagine life without Tex. We bought him before we moved in together and he's always been there.

There's been stuff going on with various people, but a week tomorrow it should be better. I hope so anyway. Hugs are always welcome, thank you.

Challenge addiction is bad! I need to stop, or write stuff that sticks to the 1k minimum.

Oh, poor Tex. :( It's so hard when age catches up with them.

I am avoiding bandom_au like the plague. Right now I suck at challenges. I dropped out of rpf_big_bang, and I'm not going to be able to finish my bandom_hc story. I have two small stories I'm writing for the fandom free for all and the only reason they'll get done is because for some reason they hit me just right and because I don't have to stick to a too-specific prompt; and I started writing them before agreeing to write them so that I knew for sure I'd write them. Ditto the bandom rarepair story I'm writing. I think that's my limit at the moment though. Meh.

Haha, poor Gerard! Honestly, I think that if the story needs him unconscious, let him be. That's not cheating, that's managing your very large cast of characters! :D

It is. He's such an old man and I know that, but seeing him age so badly is hard.

I think right now you need to be doing stuff that feels easy and makes you feel happy. All too often challenge stories don't do that, especially when you have deadlines looming. I wouldn't say you suck at challenges, more you're being realistic and looking after yourself and others, by backing out when you know you need to. That's not sucking in the slightest.

Gerard will stay unconscious for now but will wake up soon, I want to have a middle of the night Mikey and Gerard talk, because those make me happy, but mostly, Bob's off being a hero, constructing a camp etc while not letting on he's pretty badly injured. When he goes down he'll be taking on the unconscious slot.

I remember really, truly falling in love with AUs via SPNRPS, but bandom only made the love stronger. There are such amazing AUs in bandom. And even when they're not amazing as such, they're still a lot of fun :-) Most of the time, that is :-p

I have so much love for AUs, they make me happy. To the extent that I worry I don't write actual canon stuff enough. I know there was mutterings about a non-AU challenge. I'm doomed...sigh.
