My neck is really stiff today. I've been using one of those squishy rice cushion things you heat up in the microwave but could do with a much longer one so it wraps right around, like a warm rice filled scarf. This is in addition to a sore face which I suspect is a combination of the good side of my face working harder to compensate for the frozen side and also bells pain being revealed by the lack of steroids. The forum people said it could feel like you've been punched in the face and they're so right. I didn't get to lie in either as one of the cats decided to bite my big toe first thing this morning. I wasn't at all impressed.

I've finally opened google docs again and managed a whole 240 words. I think I'll go and see if I can add to those. Maybe aim for the giddy heights of 500 today.

Before I do so, that picture that Frank posted is is the cutest thing in the world. What with that and the adorable footage of Gerard and Lyn-Z at the Hello Kitty gathering it's been a very heart in eyes day.

ETA: I was just replying to comments and ended up at the Suckered comm. Even though it's three years I was pulled back to those insane times instantly. How the hell did we survive?

Take a sock and fill it with rice - make your own! :-D I did that when DH hurt his hand a few years ago.

*snugs* Sorry hon. That sucks so much.

That's what they suggested on the forums and I'm very tempted. The one I have is helping a lot but it's not at all long enough. I have rice and long socks, you've prompted me to actually go do that.

Obviously I needed someone I trust to tell me it wouldn't burst into flames if I tried their suggestion.

I just can't remember how long to nuke it for, so go a little at a time until it feels right? But yeah, it's a good thing to do. Also good for sinus headaches. ;-)

They MAKE those! For real! My dad has one, they're MARVELOUS. You can get ones that are almost like a cape, so they cover the top part of your shoulders, too, which for me always get awfully stiff and achey too.

They've got one version here (http://www.goddesscircle.com/HERBie.html), with different aromatherapy options, even. YUM.

I wish I could reach through the screen and grab those because they look perfect for what I need. Toasty, scented, warmth. Hmmmmm.

It works miracles! You can get cheaper if you don't go with aromatherapy, a few different places make them in all kinds of sizes.

Oooh, oooh, I found it! This is where I got mine (I've got the one that is shaped like a sleep mask, so I can use it on my sinuses): Nature's Way (http://www28.mawebcenters.com/naturesway2/productCat45188.ctlg). They even have the ones for your whole back, or ones that are made especially for knees and elbows, the eyepack, or basic warming and cooling packs for all kinds of body parts. GREAT stuff.

My friend KT loaned me one when I slept over at her house once, but I never ordered/made one for myself. I've been slow.

I love the smell of cinnamon (That is my favorite candle scent too), so I am glad you linked to the aromatherapy ones first. That is totally the way to go for me. And it is my neck and shoulders that always give me trouble so the U-shaped one is perfect.

*bookmarks* My knees have given me trouble lately. I'll keep the other website in mind in case I want to go that route too.

You are a fountain of great information!

OMG, the Frank picture is so adorable. That dog looks so happy.

I have a stiff neck today too. I wish I had one of those rice socks. I should get one. Hopefully you stop feeling like you got punched int he face soon. That sounds horrible.

OMG! Suckered! I remember when everyone was all about that! I found it so perplexing. *g*

They look so blissful together ♥

I need my rice thing to be longer, but am about to try making my own rice sock. I want it to be wrapped around my neck right now.

They say the punched feeling is the nerve starting to make itself known which is a good thing but I could do without the resulting pain.

You were well away from Sucker. I can't believe it's so long ago.

And thanks for mentioning the Gee/Lyn-Z footage, it is truely adorable! As is that Frank picture! <3
And OMG, Pete was at the same event, wasn't he?! I hope they got together and talked about their adorable offsprings :D .

Gerard and Lyn-Z turning up at there was so random, and as for the picture of Frank. Stars. In. My. Eyes.

Pete was there, yes. I hope they did talk, showing each other pictures of their gorgeous babies <333333

Sucker/, omg hahhahaha. It will never, ever be finished. I'm waiting to read the last chapter, although I doubt that will ever happen. I can remember well how toxic that story was, but how completely...suckered in I was.

It's probably a good thing Sucker never does get finished because if it did the world would surely end. I was reading the old community posts and so many people tried to make sense of the thing, and failed every time.

The DIY rice-sock did help. It's good stuff, even though I still worry about setting the damn thing on fire.

I know! I was all "Tiny adorable dog! Tiny adorable Frank! Which to "N'aaww!" at first???"

I still worry about setting the damn thing on fire.

Unlikely, I am pretty sure. I don't think there's anything special in the commercially-made ones (unless they're aromatherapeutic and there are ~herbs and stuff) -- or at least, I know the person who introduced me to warm rice-packs makes her own, and has never had one catch fire.

Unless you have aluminium socks, in which case all bets are off. ;)

A stiff neck and feeling like you've been punched in the face doesn't sound fun at all. I hope you're a bit better today! Those rice heating pads are so good. I used to borrow one from my sister but I really ought to get my own.

But you WROTE! Even a couple of hundred words are so much more than no words at all :-)

That picture of Frank and Pepper is ADORABLE!! And Gerard's cut his hair, so cute!!

It's not at all fun. I've knots in my shoulders and my skin hurts and just. Bah! But the rice bags do a lot of good. I just want a bigger one. That would be awesome.

I did write, and then did nothing today. Though I have been out all day so do have an excuse.

I keep thinking Frank can't post cuter pictures of his dogs but then he proves me wrong.

Ha! I saw you commenting at the comm! You can't deny it now *g*

I've been thinking I should probably make my own rice pad because I need one that I can put over my shoulders with most of the heat being below and between the shoulder blades because that's where I hurt the most.

I don't know what you're talking about, I have repressed all those memories!!!
