Nov. 5th, 2009 04:27 pmHappy Guy Fawkes day to all that celebrate. Corey and James are off to a scout fireworks and bonfire party later, but I intend to stay here, have a long leisurely shower and then watch the fireworks from where it's warm. Also work on my drawn_to story some more. Fireworks, fic, a red fuzzy blanket, a warm yellow fuzzy rice duck, and hot chocolate. Plans of awesome.
Yesterday was a long day. Mam had an appointment at the hospital at 9 so we set off just after 8. Then James had an appointment later in the morning where his half cast was changed for a full cast. He also got his stitches taken out, and yet again the skin had grown over them meaning they had to be dug out. Got home in the afternoon, faffed about, wrote some, then made the mistake of lying down on the couch to watch TV. Yeah, that didn't work out that well.
I'm enjoying reading people's answers for the DVD commentary meme, but I'm passing that one by, the last thing I need right now is an excuse to procrastinate more. Instead, have this taken from
coreopsis Post a paragraph from every WIP you can find. No explanations allowed, just the excerpt.
Bob hasn't even set down his stuff when Ray comes barrelling into the room and says, "You need to come with me; now."
"Hello to you, too. I'm fine, thanks for asking." Bob puts down his stack of files on the desk and sighs when the pile collapses, sending pages slithering to the floor. Ignoring them for now he follows Ray, who's almost running along the corridor toward his own office. He goes inside and Bob increases his pace, expecting burst pipes or someone bleeding or some imminent disaster. There's nothing. Just Ray sitting on the edge of his desk and looking at his computer monitor which shows an electronic flyer for an upcoming local gig. Bob stands in the doorway, his heart slowing to a normal pace. "This is your emergency?"
Sadly nothing that interesting has happened in that story yet, mainly because I've been focussing on drawn_to where **** and **** have just met **** who is pretty much **** right now and they're all about to ***** in the ***** on the way to *****. And then they hold hands.
