England has been hit by heavy snow and as expected everywhere has ground to a halt. The scouts were bag packing today and James barely got home for cars stuck on the dual carriageway and bad driving conditions. People simply don't know how to drive in snow and the roads not being cleared doesn't help in the slightest.

I've had awesome mail lately. I got cards from stellamira, with worry dolls!, liketheroad ♥ and one from runauberginerun which came complete with drawing on baby!Ways unwrapping Christmas presents! Mikey in his checked pajama pants and first hat and Gerard with his princess complete with a sword! It's the most adorable thing ever and now I have a problem because I can't bring myself to put it on the wall with the others. The baby!Ways need to be where I can see them always.

Today I got a postcard from dine that made me laugh a lot, a card of awesome from msktrnanny who ensured my desk looks very festive and pretty and a lovely card from strippedhalo

Eeeep! I'm glad you like the postcard, it was a lot of fun to make. I bet when they were little, Gerard told Mikey stories about rescuing princesses (that is, the princesses were the ones doing the rescue) and dragons (who were the good guys/sidekicks) and evil masterminds and I liked the idea of Mikey being into wool hats from an early age. The lack of parents in the postcard is not only due to my laziness but because they clearly sneaked down to the living room at five am on Christmas morning to open ALL the presents.

Yay for ficcing and reading and hot chocolate!

At first I wanted to draw Christmassy soapmaker!Bob/girl!Gerard but I had no idea how to dress them and then I thought of Frank/Mikey but I ended up going with the baby!Ways which are both Christmas appropriate and slightly easier to draw (next year, I'm going to start working on the postcards in AUGUST).

See, this is where we fall down on snow. You guys know that shovelling needs doing and all that stuff that makes living with snow easier. Because we get so little when we're hit hard everything goes to hell. There's not a path cleared on our estate and it's new snow over ice right now.
