It's still snowing here. At this point I wouldn't be surprised to look out of the window and see a penguin wandering down the street. Corey's school has just sent all the kids home and the tv channels are full of doom and woe about the great freeze. Understandably, James just took mam to the doctors and got stuck driving off the estate.
ETA: 5pm and the email the school sent about closing at midday has just arrived.

no_tags 6 days into the new year and I've already joined two challenges, this can't be a good sign. But, due to some crafty comm watching I got a very awesome prompt.
I started picking a picture for each birthday girl and sort of got carried away. So, behind the cut have a mini
Keep clicking the first three for much bigger. That first picture of Gerard, that's what started it all. I picked that one for Jo, and then needed a Frank and a Mikey, then couldn't leave Bob and Ray out until suddenly I had spam.
I have to admit, I picked most of these for the lighting. It's so beautiful.

Date: 2010-01-06 01:45 pm (UTC)Yeah, mostly we do have relatively mild winters and if we do have snow it tends to stick all of a few days then melt. Right now the temperatures have been sub zero so it's not melting at all. Just freezing before getting a new layer. All the councils are on the verge of running out of grit so the minor roads aren't being touched. Driving on snow if scary. I don't know how you guys cope with it all the time.

I feel penguins would make up for getting stuck down banks. My dad and two random children had to push our car out last week.
