Jan. 13th, 2010 03:03 pmThe variety of stories being posted at
no_tags is amazing. I've barely skimmed the surface yet and can't wait to get stuck in and read more. Sign ups are also open for Bandom Big Bang. I've joined up for both waves, plan being I actually finish the pre-school teacher story for wave one and something new for wave two. It should be pretty easy to get a new 10k on the pre-school story, but I'm not even going to start that until pic for 1000 is done and a handful of ficlets I owe.
James went back to work on Monday. He's been off for months so I've been getting used to being alone during the day again. I have to admit, I like it. He'll need time off later in the year as the operation didn't work as well as it could have. But that's ages away yet. I've been playing on the Wii during the day. It's so nasty outside that I've been taking walks around Wii island instead. They're supposed to be jogs but I go for fast walks, and get cheered on by the watching Miis, which is nice. I like the cycling too, though I get competitive at that. I wasn't until I won a race and since then it's a point of honour that I keep my stats up. By the time I'm finished my arms feel like they're going to drop off. As for the sword fighting. I rule at bashing heads.
Sadly Corey's X Box live is still messing with the connection to my computer. Which means I'm offline when he's online, which of course is late afternoon/early evening. He's getting a wireless connection thing for his birthday so hopefully that'll help. Until then we're sharing. Silver lining, I'm getting caught up on my downloaded TV. Also rediscovering Word for writing.

Date: 2010-01-13 03:43 pm (UTC)I was wondering how James was getting on. It's a pity the operation didn't succeed completely this time either. I really hope the third time will be! *keeps fingers crossed* Also, congratulations to having the house to yourself for a few hours every day! There really is nothing like it.
That's too bad about your connection. I've been wondering why you've been so quiet lately and thought you were busy with writing. I hope the wireless connection will make a difference! (What does your ISP have to say about it? Nothing useful at all, as usual?)

Date: 2010-01-13 09:19 pm (UTC)We knew going in the odds on a successful operation were really low, but it was worth it for the chance to lessen the pain. Which it has, which is good. Just you can actually see the joint moving against the bone, which is kind of icky.
Well, it's not my ISP at fault this time. While James and Corey's computers still connect up fine when Corey's online mine just won't. Why no one can work out, but the wireless connection should help. Fingers crossed, anyway.

Date: 2010-01-13 10:04 pm (UTC)That sucks so much. Why couldn't it have been Corey's computer that acted up instead of yours, he can't use it anyway if he's gaming online!

Date: 2010-01-13 10:19 pm (UTC)I know! All I can think of is my computer is much older than James and Corey's. But even so, it's always mine that goes wrong :(

Date: 2010-01-13 04:28 pm (UTC)Good luck to James. It's a shame that the operation wasn't completely successful.
Everyone I know loves the Wii Fit/Wii games. Good luck with that! I still have to go back to yoga, but it isn't happening this week. Too low on energy.
I hope the wireless dohickey helps your connection. it's a pain in the butt when you can't get online.

Date: 2010-01-13 08:46 pm (UTC)Yeah, it kinda sucks but we knew going in the odds were really low for total success. It's better than it was, that's the positive thing.
Man, the Wii is awesome. All the little Miis cheering as you trundle by.
It does suck. What's most annoying is it's only my computer that's affected. Both James and Corey's are fine. Which they would be >:(

Date: 2010-01-13 09:47 pm (UTC)Both waves? I take it 'no joining challenges' wasn't a resoulution for 2010? lol That's awesome dude, news!
Hope the return to work wasn't too difficult on James? Or was he impatient to go?
You make me want to play the Wii! I need to exercice more over there, dude.
I rule at bashing heads.
You're so fierce omg!

Ahahaha, no. I did so well kicking my habit too, and now it's all gone to hell. Not that I mind. It's fun.
Well, he didn't mind going back, he was missing his friends. But he's been on a 1-8 shift this week, it'll be next week when he has to get up at 6 that the back to work shock will hit.
The Wii is so much fun. I close the blinds when I'm playing the head bashing game because I'm sure I look insane!

Date: 2010-01-14 03:01 am (UTC)Can you still load up a page and read it offline, at least? If the whole fic is one one page, like this (http://ninjetti.envy.nu/MXvirtualSn/Episode409.html), then it should work if there's nothing else to load, right?

Date: 2010-01-20 10:21 pm (UTC)I can read offline as long as the page doesn't refresh by accident. I've done that before and ended up with a page not found page and no way of getting the other page back.
Also, just replied to you in email because I only got one email from you and I usually get two if you use both my bt and gmail addy. So, making sure you know I have replied.
