Been shopping at the outlet village today. boring stuff but we really needed to buy a new quilt. Before we went there we called to see my grandparents. My grandad is really ill, he's still having the mini strokes and spends most of the time just sitting in his chair. He can't see, is dizzy all the time and having a real conversation with him is impossible. He'll talk but then asks the same questions a minute later, Nanna was saying last week that he had to be carried to bed in a chair. We come from a firefighter family, my dad and uncles were all firemen so at least they knew how to get him safely up like that. The doctor had wanted him to go to hospital but he refused, from what I read between the lines nanna has been told she should get a bungalow, but she doesn't want to leave her home. It's her I feel sorry for, she used to be such a sociable woman, now she can't even leave him for an hour. I always feel so guilty when I go, thinking that I should go more often. Dad was there too, which was cool, I don't get to see him as often as I'd like.
After we went shopping and I managed to get James to buy me gay porn. YAY, result! Of course he didn't know that the books he took to the till were gay porn but that's not the point *g* It was two books from the Idol series and yeah, I know, that series is pretty bad but they were only £1 each, how could I leave such titles as 'To serve Two Masters' and 'Chains of Deceit' on the shelf at that price?
James also treated us to dinner at Thornton's cafe which is a chocolate shop. I had hot chocolate and the sickliest chocolate cake ever. Chocolate crumb base, topped with chocolate truffle with chocolate bits and finished with chocolate fudge. By the time I'd finished I was on a *major* sugar buzz, and vowing never to eat chocolate again.
So now I have new reading material and a lovely new quilt for tonight...bliss. But now, I'm about to tackle a build up of comments.

He always said he wouldn't buy it so I just slipped the books into his hand and left the shop. I'm sure the assistant didn't even notice the picture of two men in bondage gear on the cover, lol.
My quilt is lovely. Big, puffy and yellow. Perfect to snuggle up in...and read gay porn ;)

Date: 2003-10-28 10:24 am (UTC)Well, they're more like books, but so far it's good.
There's two brothers, one gets into the master stuff, the other wants to be a slave, but he can't as it's beneath his station.
So far there's been whippings, golden showers, slaves being abused by their masters and humiliation. And I've only just started chapter2!
See apparently there's this island where only men live, so there's rampant homosexuality, which is convenient *g*

Date: 2003-10-28 10:54 am (UTC)*comes back* Seriously, I'm sorry if I scared you with h*** - I should know better than to use the H word... but you see, this week on a community we have a little challenge called "I don't do..." therefore people write drabbles on their worst, squickiest squicks: het, Mary-Sues, consensual sex...
*worried* you're going to make me wash my mouth again for mentionning het, Mary-Sues and consensual sex in the same sentence, aren't you?
