I saw this recced twice yesterday and have just read it this afternoon.

And is there Honey still for Tea? It's a Winnie the Pooh story from [livejournal.com profile] apocabigbang and it's just, wow. Heart-breaking and bleak and it left me misty-eyed often.

The art is beautiful, too.

And now I'm going to grab a quick shower before the Dancing on Ice finale.

As I said to [livejournal.com profile] hermitsoul, looking over that story made me realise that there actually still are some childhood icons I prefer to keep sacred, I didn't think I had any! Though I guess my deep hatred of Disney Pooh should have told me so, but I just thought that was just good taste :-)

I won't say I enjoyed the story because it wasn't that kind of story, but it was really effective in showing the horror of a world in chaos.

Better that than Winnie slash I guess ;)

Did someone seriously write about the Apocalypse coming to Hundred Acre Wood? I...am both disturbed (my childhood omg!) and also impressed because that's kind of an ingenious idea.

They did. It was written really well too, in the style of the books. The contrast between the horror that was happening and their innocence was huge.

I'm glad that it wasn't done in an overly detailed way, that would have been too much. Just their reactions and confusion was enough.
