Happy birthday,
wovenindelibly I hope it's fantastic for you ♥
I had a very lovely day yesterday. Got Corey off to school, got James up and dressed and as it was his day off we hit the shops. Subway first for an early dinner then we wandered a while before picking out our new carpet for the living room before going to Asda for groceries. It had been raining all day but I wanted to get out of the house and walk for a while, and like I told James, it's not like I'd melt in the rain, so I got him to go to Herrington Park once we'd finished shopping. He didn't have his coat so he dropped me off at the edge of the park and drove to the duck lake while I walked it. It was so lovely, the rain was belting down and it was cold but being outside felt good. There were only a few people around with it being so wet but there plenty of ducks and swans to see and everywhere you looked was green and wet. When I got to the duck lake the people in the car park must have thought I was insane, but I enjoyed every minute. I could have kept walking except I was wearing my crocs and they're not good wet weather shoes at all.
Got home and had a shower and then did all the ironing that had piled up while James and Corey made tea -- a very yummy chicken chow mein. Then, as usual lately, Kayleigh turned up, ate leftovers and didn't leave until we said we were going to bed. But man, I paid for that activity later. I woke during the night and my leg was aching like crazy. I don't know if it was just my joints protesting or the beginnings of yet another stupid infection so I doubled the antibiotics just in case and had a rest day today.
This is one of those 360 degree pictures of Herrington Park. It's a gorgeous place with loads of walking trails, and ponds everywhere. It also has an ice cream van that sells the best whippy ice creams ever, especially when you make them into a 99. Hmmmm. Which reminds me. While I was in Asda I saw they're brought out their own brand of luxury ice cream, ones with bits in, like chocolate and fudge and nuts, so many different kinds, big tubs of the stuff all lined up in the freezer and you know what? It was only £1. Why couldn't they have done that when I was actually eating ice cream?! It's to cry.
Oh man, I've just read that it's only a month for the BBB wave two drafts. I know exactly what happens in the fic and have a nice chunk done but the help_hiati story is well on its way to being plus 20k and gah! I need to get back into the groove of writing in big chunks daily, and fast.

Date: 2010-03-31 03:58 pm (UTC)Herrington Park is beautiful. It's been created on top of a reclaimed pit and they've done a fantastic job.
A 99 is an ice cream with a chocolate flake pushed into it. Why the name I don't know, but man, they taste good.

Date: 2010-03-31 07:21 pm (UTC)I hope you'd just overtaxed your joints a little and that it isn't another infection! *keeps fingers crossed*
You totally need to either get back into writing big chunks daily or get back into writing short stories ;-) Good luck in any case!

Date: 2010-03-31 07:29 pm (UTC)There's loads of Canada geese at the park but no goldeneyes. Those are so pretty. It must be really nice to see the ice on the lake too.
I hope it is joint pain, at least that'll go away with rest.
This Mikey/Pete was supposed to be a shorter story. Once BBB is over I really need to be strict with myself about keeping things short.
