Mikey's new twitter picture is a thing of beauty. Favourite always!
On Friday nanna asked if we'd take her shopping for a new bedspread -- in which I mean she asked in that nanna like way which meant we had no chance of refusing. Still, we had a good day. She wanted to go to an outlet place that isn't that far away distance wise but add in the Easter traffic and it took a while to get there. As soon as we did she hustled us into the cafe for something to eat. Bowls of soup and toastie sharing minutes later and James and Corey left me with nanna to look for the bedspread. Which actually didn't take that long once I'd found a member of staff in the bedding department. Of course we then had to sit and debate about which colour to buy for a while. And then we were off again, me clutching the bedspread as nanna threaded her way through the small spaces between very expensive displays of china and kitchen wear.
Nanna was determined she'd buy me something for Easter, the problem was what. She had her heart set on finding a throw for my couch -- this is despite me saying I didn't know what colour the walls would be yet. In the end they didn't actually sell throws so she started listing other stuff. Did I want a top? No, I'd be lucky to get one arm in the tops they sold there. Did I want these flowers? No, I couldn't have them once she'd looked at the price. In the end I said I'd have some candles as they had a very lovely candle section in the store. She said okay even though she thought candles were too smelly. So we stood and sniffed many candles and I ended up with two small ones that smell of flowers.
Eventually we left with the bedspread, candles and a bag of jelly beans for Corey. Drove her home and were informed that she was going to my uncles for dinner so don't be late on Sunday. &nanna;
Yesterday we went for a walk. Sunderland are taking part in the Walk 4 Life programme and have a list of local parks with signposted walks in each, anything from one to three miles. We did a one mile at Herrington Park, which I enjoyed even though the first part is a long walk up a hill. By the time I was half way up I had to sit down and catch my breath, but you know, before Christmas no way could I have done that one mile walk. In fact, in four days it'll be three months since I started to get daily exercise and since I've eaten fast food, chips, chocolate etc. So out of breath on that hill or not, finishing that mile was a good moment. It also started pouring down with rain toward the end of the walk, which was fine, until it started hail stoning, that I wasn't fine with. So we got in the car and went home for hot showers.
While I was getting showered James and Corey made tea, and also managed to incinerate a baked potato which takes special skill imo. Then it was time for Doctor Who \o/ Which is when Kayleigh came in and took over my computer for the night. She was still on it when I went to bed, and when I woke up I found a lovely picture of her new girlfriend saved on my desktop. My sister, so giving and generous.
Today I've been playing catch up online, that and indulging myself by writing yet another Mikey and Gerard scene. This story is full of them, that and group scenes and more mentions of Starbucks than you can shake a stick at. What we're missing is a Mikey/Pete reunion,but soon, very soon.
James is working tomorrow but doesn't start until 12, which means more sleep for me! I love holidays.

Date: 2010-04-04 06:55 pm (UTC)You know, this sounds like the right time to go on Facebook, and leave a comment about how your sister is leaving her sex tapes on your computer. Because if your fic counts as gay porn, then a photo of a girlfriend TOTALLY = sex tapes.

Date: 2010-04-04 08:42 pm (UTC)Both taking up daily excercise AND not eating any junkfood for three months, you're totally awesome!! I love going for walks myself and try to do it regularly. I've noticed that whenever I don't get to do it for some reason, my fitness start to deteriorate immediately. It's almost scary how quickly it happens and how much longer it takes to build the fitness back again!
They managed to incinerate a baked potato?! I marvel at their skill ;-)
Waybrothers!!!

Date: 2010-04-06 05:40 pm (UTC)Fitness is such a hard thing. I like walking when I get going and I actually like the little exercise routine I have for the mornings, it's just actually starting it.
They did incinerate it! It was more rock than potato when it was done *g*
