I'm feeling good today. Yesterday, I sat and finished a story that was way overdue. It ended at just under 42,000 words, but I sat until the final edit (by me) was done. It's the longest thing that I've ever done, and I sort of became intimidated by it. Leading to me putting off finishing it, which was really unfair to the person who needed it. But, for better or for worse it's done.

Reading through it did show me some things. Pet names are *bad*, except in a mocking way. I can be very melodramatic when I write and really need to tone some things down. Two betas have said that now, and reading something that I'd written months before I see where they're coming from now.

It's a good thing to learn, though I have to admit seeing paragraphs of what you wrote scored through as redundant does hurt. But you just have to learn from it and hopefully not make the same mistakes again.

My goal is to be a better writer, with ever word important, maybe I'll achieve that one day.

Corey is much better today, he's slept the last two days away. Yesterday he fell asleep for about two hours and frightened the life out of me when he jumped up asking where his water was, which he'd asked for just before falling asleep. He wouldn't believe he had been asleep, even though it was dark when he woke up. Today he's playing with his cars again, which is a good sign, but it does mean I'm getting the 'mam watch this funny bit' about the cartoons again. I swear I can quote the lines from Sponge Bob and Ed, Edd and Eddy.

I also have to say, Pixy Stix are wonderful. I can't believe the sugar rush you get from them. I'm sure they must be really bad for you, but they taste so nice. James stole half my stash and caused a riot at work. He also made one poor guy homesick, he's from California and went into raptures about pixy stix's. He said that you put them in ice cold water and drink that, which sounds pretty disgusting actually, but what do I know?

But now I icon. I've had my new limit for two days now and not filled them, and that's not right.

agreed. I hate it in the HP fandom when in fics they make Sirius and Remus calling each other 'Padfoot' and 'Moony' during sex. Such a turn off!

*huge grin* Am iconing as well *silly grin stuck here for days*

I must say I like petnames. Well, 'baby' and 'babe', that is. And not *always*, not at *every* line either, granted. But here and there, yeah, I like it- this is the sappy in me, I guess *g*

"baby", "babe", "love", "honey", it's okay during sex. Especially "love". But "Padfoot"? no.way.

Ya know, sometimes I forget you're from the HP fandom! lol Yeah, Padfoot is bad, indeed.

I must look for new HP icons, in order to remind you of this! *ponders* or maybe talk to you about gross pairings... just so you can be reminded that I belong there - in the HP fandom I mean, not the gross pairings :P

I had a few 'babes' in my story and had them all crossed out with the words, Brennan wouldn't say that. Which is probably right. I suppose it depends on the character.

Just how I like you. 90% kink, 10% sap ;)

Padfoot and Moony *g* That is a turn off!

Hope you're enjoying iconing. I've done lots and still have space.

Love your dog/wolf btw!

thanks - that's the illustration of Sirius as Padfoot/Snuffles in Goblet of Fire, the American version.

*blinks* I know, I know. I'll go wear my GEEK hat :P

Lol, I think it's cool that you know that. Anyway, there's no need to feel geeky when you talk to a trekker. We're mega geeks by default *g*

Glad to hear Corey is feeling better *g* And you always make me smile with the infamous Sponge Bob. I can't really say anything though, cos uh, I kinda watch it from time to time as well! lol This cartoon is so off-beat! It just makes me laugh. And I guess I should feel ashamed aboout it, but everyone knows I'm shameless, anyway! lol

And you finally edited WW? Congrats, sis! I know how much work it gave you. This is going to be a blast *g*

I like Sponge Bob too, he is off beat and it makes me laugh. There just comes a point when you know what the jelly fish will say, or gary do, that you know you've seen too many episodes *g*

And yeah, WW is done! I surprised you didn't hear me celebrate from France last night.

LOL, I like it!

But I have to say, despite what the icon says. I do *not* want to read Sponge Bob slash. I may have read Winnie the Pooh stuff but you have to draw the line! Though I bet Squidworth could do good things with those tentacles.

Man, I squicked myself there.

Oh, so that was *you*? Wow

You have no idea how relieved I was...actually, you may do. I've moaned about it long enough :(

I'm assuming it's supposed to be like Kool-Aid. We never drank our Pixy Sticks... we just sucked that sugar right down. LOL

I can't imagine wanting to drink them. I mean, that's what you have pop for if you're thirsty.

I sucked mine right down too, still surprised at the buzz you get. I thought that would be an exaggeration *G*
