Mar. 23rd, 2013 08:08 amThis morning.
James was due at work at 7 and the alarm didn't go off, so we woke at 6:20. A frantic race to get him ready and out of the door and then I got my coffee and went to check online -- and saw MCR had broken up.
I'm horribly sad right now and don't understand why they ended it all with one very short, impersonal paragraph.
But I keep reminding myself. At least they told us. At least they didn't go on a damn hiatus and just never came back. We got that at least.
I am sad right now, but I've also got so many incredible things I'm going to hold onto.
The people I met due to this band, some of whom have become great friends.
The music. The canon. All the fantastic discussions I've had via LJ/DW, twitter and email.
The pictures we've shared and enjoyed. The glee of fans all over the world coming together and enjoying something as one.
Embracing the messages they taught up. The songs that they gave us.
They gave us part of their lives and now they're moving on to something else. I can't begrudge them for that.
In the end all I can say is, thank you. For all that they've given, and all that they're going to give in the future, even if it is different to before.
