It's the 1st of September and I'm hoping it's going to be a better month than August.

I ended that month by needing to go to the eye infirmary as there was something up with my right eye. It looked like it had a bump on the white part next to the iris, so I figured it was better to get it checked out. Thankfully I didn't have to wait that long to see a doctor, and after a few tests they found out I have a bubble on my eye, which apparently can happen when there's mild irritation going on. So I have steroid eye drops to use 6 times daily for a fortnight. Which is fine, except I can taste the damn things when I use them and they taste gross. That was a bit disconcerting at first but a quick Google showed it was normal.

Mam update. I spent pretty much a full week in meetings with various care agencies and arranged equipment, wheelchair and most important, a rehab team who comes in twice a day to help her get her strength up. She needs that team, especially if she wants to get into a bungalow any time soon as council housing bungalows coming available in this town are like hen's teeth. Since then she's refused to let the carers help her, locked them out once, and in general complains about them always. She also keeps saying she's bored out of her mind, so yesterday we said we'd take her for a drive to the beach, get dinner from the chip shop etc. She wouldn't have to walk anywhere, but she wouldn't go saying she couldn't be bothered to leave the house, and it's a case of, you can't have it both ways.

It's my niece's 11th birthday today and we're off to her tea party later. Just need to drop off a bag of runner beans to nanna first as we've been harvesting and have a glut of them. Also, cucumbers. We've been pickling those, hopefully they turn out nice. We also need to go get mam a birthday gift as it's her birthday tomorrow.

I also post my bbb tomorrow. It still hasn't got a title. I must think of one before my artist tracks me down and threatens bodily harm. Then once it's posted I can read, as there are a few I'm itching to read.

Finally, one of the tomatoes have started to go red \o/ I know that's not really that exciting, but this is the first time in the years we've been growing them they've started to ripen on the vine. Normally we have to ripen them on the windowsill, so to look outside and see a reddish tomato is great.

Finally, before I go off and get a start on the day. I hate the new twitter. Hate it! I didn't tend to back read anyway, now even if I wanted to I couldn't as it's a confusion of repeated tweets and stupid blue lines everywhere.
