Apr. 29th, 2016 05:32 pmWe went to give our month notice at the registry office yesterday. And also paid for the room/service, so that's one thing ticked off the list. I was surprised to be told part of that process was us being separated during the conversation with the registrar so he could quiz us individually to ensure we weren't being coerced into marriage or it was a sham marriage. It was no problem though, at this point I know James' personal details as thoroughly as my own.
The day before was pretty great, too. Because our new couch came! It's beautiful, the most expensive and comfortable piece of furniture I've ever owned. You can see it here. It's soft and squishy and both the end parts have electric recliners. James has claimed the one on the right as that's the one which he can reach the button with his good hand, which I guess is a good excuse. But every part is comfy. I love the recliners and it's very satisfying and comfortable to sit in the curve.
We did have to leave one of the chairs out as it was just too big. It was originally supposed to be the same length on both bits, but that would have blocked the way through the room, so I now have the spare chair as a very comfortable and plush computer chair.
Also that day I got a very unexpected gift card for £25 from Evans after being stabbed by the pin. They did take my name and address for the accident book but as I didn't make an actual complaint I didn't expect that. James also got a speeding fine for £100 that day but we'll brush over that.
So yes, despite the fact it's been really cold, snowing, raining and sleeting for the last week it's been a good few days.
And unrelated to everything, I watched Inside Out today and really enjoyed it. It had such a cool concept with some pretty deep themes. But what made me laugh was seeing inside the cat's head, because that's just how it would be.
