Nov. 27th, 2003 02:25 pmARGHHHH just did a long entry and LJ ate it!
Not going to post it all again, so highlights.
Somedevious cow person outbid me on an E-Bay auction I really wanted by 10p, and the auction had ended by the time I logged on :(
Blair the sucky fish died last night, and in the big tank I was just sitting watching the fish when the mangled corpse of Maggie the gurammi suddenly floated to the surface. However, we do have a tank of guppy fry.
Someone should invent a biscuit that doesn't disintegrate and fall in the bottom of your cup of tea when you dunk it.
New Joey in Grease clips and JC's video!
My Harry Potter book came today. My willpower is getting tested so much just now with my cds and book just sitting so close. James better get them wrapped because I can only resist so long. The plan is to have one days shopping tomorrow and we're done in terms of christmas presents. I'm trying to decide if I should go to Newcastle to the Lush shop or order online. Corey and I both adore Lush products, especially the Christmas stuff, bubble bath bars with glitter. Bathbombs with tiny stars, sparkly soap, how can you go wrong? Corey gets a tray of bathbomb snowmen and santa bars in his stocking every year. I have to laugh because James hates the stuff, it doesn't matter how carefully you clean the bath glitter is always left behind. He went to work with stars in his hair once *g*.
But before I go, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to anyone that celebrates it, and anyone that doesn't, HAPPY THURSDAY.

Date: 2003-11-27 07:15 am (UTC)You'd think with all the technological advances we have someone would make a biscuit that stays together.
Obviously some people have their priorities wrong!

Date: 2003-11-27 06:57 am (UTC)Oh, the glitter bubble bath seems lovely! (granted I only take showers, but that's not the point lol) Right now I could kill for a nice clean bathtub in a luxury bathroom, a good book, and a bubble bath *glares at own bathroom*
*sighs* I wish I were Mary Poppins: she just clicked her fingers and everything was tidy - and all this with a little musical number. *goes back to cleaning*

Date: 2003-11-27 07:10 am (UTC)In England cookies are just a certain type of biscuit, they tend to be chewy, round with chocolate chips etc in. However, I think that in other places biscuits aren't how I think of them. I was watching a show this morning based in the States and their biscuits looked more like scones. LOL, you just have to love words.
I take showers mostly too, but sometimes I love a bath with glittery bathbombs and a good book. Corey has a bath everyday, and he's all about the glitter *g*
I sympathise with the cleaning thing too.If only it was that easy.

Date: 2003-11-27 10:44 am (UTC)English is the most screwed-up language ever. We have exceptions to every rule, and some of the exceptions have exceptions. The only thing our language did right was keeping the articles to a minimum. Which just makes it super-hard for us to learn any other languages properly, which is positively hysterical, because English is so damn hard to learn as a second language. Mouse, Babycakes, Villanelle, anybody else who did NOT learn English first... ..my hat is off to you.
Oh, and in the US, cookies are pretty much any baked dough that doesn't rise, intended as a treat. We don't have scones (VERY few Americans really know what one is, even though the grocery stores DO actually sell boxes of mix for them) and biscuits are very much like a dinner roll, but usually flaky, like a flat, round croissant or something.

Date: 2003-11-29 06:10 pm (UTC)I HATE it when that happens! Try what I do; Right before posting, I copy the entry, so if LJ goes wacky and doesn't post it, you can just paste it into a new post. :)
Saved my butt a few times! :)
