We finally got to see Spider Man -- Into the Spider Verse and enjoyed it a lot. I really enjoyed the style and found the whole thing funny and engaging. Though did get distracted for ages trying to places the actor who provided Peter Parker's voice. I Googled it when the movie was finished and it was a big, of course moment.
Not that the film started well. The cinema was rammed and our screen was full of kids. Not that they caused any issues, though I do wish the mega Spider Man fanboy behind us would have used his indoor voice as he explained to his dad many details of the Spider verse throughout the movie. Plus, when we go to the cinema we always get a Costa coffee each and James gets a cup of ice and then I add pop we take in ourselves. We did that today, because it so busy it was minutes from the actual film starting, so poured the pop over the ice, and realised that the bottom of the cup had a crack and pop was flowing everywhere. My feet and trousers were soaked and the floor a slip hazard so I had to quickly go and ask for cloths to clean up the spill. The cinema guy kept asking if I wanted him to go get me another drink from Costa, but I said no. That would be a bit cheeky considering it was our pop that was spilt.
We're considering a double feature of Bumblebee and Mary Poppins tomorrow, but I suspect it'll be one or the other. Whatever one it is, I'll be checking the cup before any liquid is poured.

Date: 2018-12-30 07:42 pm (UTC)Most of the kids were cute, and I loved their reactions to part of the movie. I didn't even mind the one behind really, he had some interesting comments to make. Just, making those comments at full voice was a bit distracting.
I will do :)

Date: 2018-12-30 07:46 pm (UTC)That’s good! It’s good to hear there’s some behave kids. Oh yeah people with no volume control like that can be annoying. When we went to Mamam Mia there were old people right behind us and they just... kept talking.
💜 I hope you have a good new year too!

Date: 2018-12-30 07:56 pm (UTC)Oh, maybe I should watch the original Mary Poppins tomorrow. It's one of the few Disney movies I have on DVD. (I really need to get some of the old animated classics like Sleeping Beauty and Aristocats on DVD. I love them so much.) Whichever you end up watching I hope you'll enjoy it a lot!

Date: 2018-12-30 08:07 pm (UTC)That sounds like a good idea. I only have a handful of DVDs, but one of them is Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. I'd watch it but don't actually have a DVD player now.

Date: 2019-01-01 07:46 am (UTC)I can record on the Sky box, and have Netflix. Of course that does lead to issues where I could lose recordings, but I just find it easier to use those. I doubt I'll ever get rid of the DVDs I do have, though. Even if I can't play them *g*

Date: 2018-12-30 09:01 pm (UTC)I sorta lucked out the first time I watched the movie because I purposely bought a ticket for a 21+ show (you can drink wine or beer) so the crowd was deffo growned up. And it was truly delighful. I keep having to reschedule my second viewing for one reason or another, tho.
Ugh at having to watch the movie all sticky and whatnot.
Although I'm pretty much done with theater going (the only thing I kinda want to watch is The Favorite), I have heard a lot of fantastic buzz for Bumblebee and almost none for the Mary Poppins movie. FWIW, I'm not a Mary Poppins fans solely because I've never seen the original movie (nor am likely to do so anytime soon).
IF you have to choose, I'd suggest going to Bumblebee might end up being hella rewarding/enjoyable.

Date: 2018-12-31 08:50 am (UTC)I haven't seen those kinds of shows here, which is a shame. The kids really didn't cause serious problems, and like I said in a comment above, where cute in their reactions, because some of them really got into things. I do think the man behind could have told his son to at least try talking in a hushed volume. While he did have interesting things to say I didn't need to hear spider facts at that time.
Hope you get to see it again soon.
I think Bumblebee will be our end choice. Depending on how long it sticks around we may get to see MP later, but considering I'm not that bothered if we do or not, supports the Bumblebee choice.
