Dec. 19th, 2019 07:14 pmToday has been a good one.
Milo was at the vets this morning, and blood tests show he's doing well and maintained his weight so he doesn't have to be seen for three months. He's still in the very early stages of kidney disease but that can be controlled with diet for now. So, no more vets visits for any cat for nearly a month.
Then we found out a parking ticket had been quashed, so that was great. It was the same car park as the last fine, but this time it was the machine acting up as we had paid enough. Thankfully after the first fine we've started keeping tickets and taking note of the times we enter the car park, so despite not allowing the appeal the first time, after sending that evidence this one was quashed.
Then, we saw the new Star Wars and I very much enjoyed it, and because we booked in the first few days we got a fantastic set of posters from Odeon.
We've also been to visit Kayleigh and had a trip to the supermarket so it's been a busy day.
Tomorrow we're off to Company first thing and then more shopping before seeing Cats. I really want to get all the grocery shopping done as it's getting a bit busy out there.
The only slightly bad thing is I phoned Corey and he's having to work boxing day night, so will only be home two nights. Thankfully he doesn't start until 9 in the evening so will be able to spend the full day with us and then we'll drive him back to Newcastle before his shift.

Oh nice! What do the posters look like?
Aww that’s a shame*hugs* still I’m sure you’ll have a good time with him

Date: 2019-12-19 07:40 pm (UTC)I've just searched for them online and they're these ones. If I'd know people would buy them I would have got two sets as it was set per ticket. I could have made a bit cash before Christmas.
Yeah, we will have a good time, and I'll enjoy having him home, if only for two days.

Of course! 🖤 are you all set for Christmas?

Date: 2019-12-19 07:48 pm (UTC)Pretty much all done now. Just a few odds and ends to get, thank goodness. It helps that my older nieces and nephew just want money with a token chocolate gift. So that's easy done.

Date: 2019-12-19 07:28 pm (UTC)Other things all sound good -- omg I hear you about the crowds. I tried going in to town early last Saturday and barely escaped. The crowds also came in early!
Too bad about Corey's work schedule. At least you get the day, though!

Date: 2019-12-19 07:44 pm (UTC)The crowds are ridiculous. You need a patient of a saint in the supermarkets this time of year, and getting parked takes forever.
That's true, he'll be home half of Christmas eve, all of Christmas day and half of Boxing day, so I'll enjoy that time.

I see Star Wars the day after Christmas in 4-D because I'm taking the great-nephew and I figured he would get a kick out of that.
Aww, but at least you have 2 nights and all day Boxing Day.

YES! James had finers of fury when the appeal was knocked back the first time, I'm sure smoke was flying from his email.
Oh, 4d sounds interesting. You'll have to let me know how that goes.
That's very true, that time is better than none. Then after that no doubt I'll sit and collapse for days.

No problem at all. I think it's a film best seen unspoiled.

I actually really enjoyed Cats. Yeah, visually they looked weird and I think if you don't like musicals it won't be your thing as there is very little spoken dialogue. But, in all, I approve.

Date: 2019-12-20 07:46 pm (UTC)Congratulations to the squashed ticket!
Good to hear you enjoyed yourself at the movies and those posters look so cool.
Good luck getting all your shopping done tomorrow and have lots of fun at the show! (I did most of my grocery shopping today so now I only have to get a couple of things on Monday.)

Date: 2019-12-21 02:09 pm (UTC)Thank you! The thought of having to pay another huge fine, especially as it wasn't our fault, wasn't good.
Shopping is now done. Well, apart from the buns and fresh veggies on Monday. But, that's the good thing of living over the road from a Lidl, I can buy them within a few minutes.

Date: 2019-12-21 02:03 pm (UTC)Ah, I hope you enjoy Company as much as I do. I went in yesterday to get the coffee that was on offer and wandered out with many many bags, including 6 huge bags of wild bird seed. But at 50p each I couldn't resist.
