We were at Durham yesterday to see Military Wives and it was so great. Seriously, one of my most favourite films I've seen this year.
While at Durham I saw that a new cat cafe is about to be opened, right next to where we park for the cinema. It's still in the planning stages but I've added it on Insta and FB because another cat cafe! and one in a place we're at often. *___*
Also while at Durham I caused a little bit of a kerfuffle at Starbucks. I use a reusable cup but saw that because of the coronavirus the baristas aren't allowed to handle them right now, but I wondered if I'd still get the discount as I did actually have my cup on me. It's only 25p but every little helps. Which prompted the lady actually making the drinks to say why couldn't she just pour the drink she'd made into my cup which I'd hold out as that would mean no touching would be going on and no wasting of a plastic lid. But, the guy on the till was having none of it even though the woman kept saying her way made sense.
Our new kitty will be coming at the end of the week as he has a touch of conjunctivitis in one eye. We called up the cat lady and she said that she'd keep him until it was gone as she didn't want it to spread to our cats, which is sensible as while she'll pay for any medication/treatment given to the new cat if he came to ours and it did spread we'd have to cover the costs of the meds for the others.
The h/c exchange is open and I need to join up already. I suspect this will consist of a lot of staring at the forms and trying to work out what the hell it all means before going back to
egelantier's very helpful email from last year.
Finally,
undeadrobins is hosting a multi fandom kissathon go check it out.

Date: 2020-03-12 10:57 pm (UTC)Coronavirus is no joke. It sucks that things went so wobbly at Starbucks, but I can see why the dude at the cash register was like NOPE. Caveat: I dunno if this is the policy worldwide, but I do remember that Starbucks (at least here in the US) was v. quick in telling folks that reusable cups were not gonna be accepted/used for a while. (I still know why you were annoyed/frustrated abt it, tho. No one likes the disruption of their usual/routine).

Saying that a few days on I doubt the second barista would be protesting now. It all seems more real, even though, in this area at least, not many restrictions are in place atm.
