That's very true. Plus, if it was miserable weather all the queuing to get into shops would be a thousand times worse. It's boring now with waits up to an hour, but add in rain or cold and it would be horrible.

I've found the same, most people are great at social distancing. Even standing at the end of narrow areas until the other person has come through. But yeah, it can get eerily quiet. When walking over the bridge that goes over the duel carriageway there wasn't a car in sight. That was weird.
