It's felt like an unproductive day today.
I had a blood donation appointment In Newcastle just before 10, got there perfectly on time. Temp checked, checked in, iron levels great, into the banana chair, needle inserted and the blood just stopped halfway down the tube. They're allowed one repositioning, but that didn't help so it was classed as a failed donation. But, as nothing reached the bag I could make another appointment straight away instead of waiting three months. Though of course, there was none available until well into next month.
From there we drove to the limb centre as the buckle on James' leg snapped this morning. He had a spare which I put on but he wanted another to replace that spare. But, one we got there the limb specialist wanted him to have an actual appointment as he hadn't seen him for a while. Obviously, I wasn't allowed in with them so I stayed in the car, and about 2 hours later James was released. Neither of us knew he'd be in that long, thinking he'd literally go in and pick up a strap like previous times, but, he was and thankfully I had water in the car with me as none of the cafes or little cafe carts were open in the area. And after all that, they wouldn't give him a spare strap saying it was up to them to change them. Which is fair enough I suppose for people with new amputations but James has been changing his straps for a very long time now and knows what he's doing.
Things did pick up after as we drove to the beach for a late lunch and to pick up two Costa magic bags and had a look in a few garages as our Motability car goes back at the end of the year so we need to start thinking of which one to get next. What we'd prefer is to get another Mokka X but they're getting a new body shape this year and as a result, the deposit has rocketed to about £1800 which, nope.
Picked up Milo's meds at the vets, and now am home, feeling all sun warm but without feeling I've actually achieved anything.
Yesterday was a fab day as we went out to eat at Seaburn Stack at the beach. The Stack is arranged so well, shipping containers stacked on top of each other in a huge square, each one housing a different street food restaurant with benches and tables in the open to the air middle. There's also a stage and yesterday there was live music, just a guy singing with his guitar and it was just so nice to be out eating again. Though I had to laugh as it's been so long since we'd been anywhere that has an actual choice that it easily took 30 minutes to pick what to have.
Which I know, as problems go is a good one to have.
