Jan. 16th, 2022 03:55 pmWe went to Re.F.Use for breakfast yesterday, the first time since before Christmas.
They had Waste Not Boxes available but we both said we wouldn't get one as we've got plenty in the house. Then James saw king prawns on top of one of the boxes and the next thing I know he was ordering one at the counter and a volunteer was putting a big crate full of food on our table.
It's not the best box we've had from there. Well worth the money they charge but some things that will end up being given away. Along with the prawns, there were trout fillets, chicken legs, eggs, loads of veggies, loads of fruit, courgettii, cauli rice, a big cup of ready-made cold coffee like you get in supermarkets, bread, a little panettone, two marzipan logs, a big jar of sweet mincemeat, and a tray of veal which surprised me and I have no idea what to do with. I also got some things from the community fridge so went out well stocked.
After that, we went to Durham , had a mooch around and ended up in the market square for a while, before heading to the cinema where we saw West Side Story. I really enjoyed it, but it's been so long since I saw the original that I'd forgotten just how bleak a story it actually is.
That walk also cemented that I need to get in touch with the lymph clinic as my wraps are goosed. They'll stay up if I'm just pottering in the house but any actual walking and they lose all compression and slip down. Yesterday I had to rewrap one leg after leaving Re.F.Use and the other when we reached Durham. That time I even bought some elastic plaster tape to see if that would help keep them up, and nope.
So yeah, a call will have to happen tomorrow.
