Mar. 21st, 2022 08:39 amIt's 30 years today since I met James. A nightclub with sticky floors, pints of pink kangaroos, early 90s music, underaged drinking for him, barely legal for me and we met our person. Who would have thought it? He bought me an Oodie t-shirt with a sloth on and I think we're off out to eat and cinema later but that's it. I suppose our wedding anniversary is the most important one, but as we waited so long to actually do that this one seems more significant.
A quick catch up. I think I said I got my old computer back, well it was set up in the craft room and promptly broke again, I mean, it was working but making a horrible noise and crawling in terms of doing stuff. So this time it's being scrapped and I'll get store credit. So that should happen at some point this week.
James is back at work from tomorrow, only half days for now but he's so much better. He's had no word from the hospital so no further testing is needed I guess. Though knowing them, he'll go back, get back into the groove of things and then they'll send an appointment out of the blue.
Milo is doing great. He's taking his antibiotics and his pads look good so hopefully, he'll be seen tomorrow and that's it.
I finally got my new wraps. They're really strong and it's great to have something that stays up but to get that strength they're ridged and the ridges pull up a little when I pull the compression tight. So I call them my Big Bird wraps as they give me ridged legs *g*
I had to get some new shoes yesterday. I don't know if it's because of the lymphodema or that my gait is off due to excess weight for so long but I always wear my shoes down really quickly on the inside back so I end up walking with a tilt to my feet. I picked Sketchers this time as they're always comfortable and hopefully they'll last a bit longer.
Spring has sprung so I've been out tidying the garden and greenhouse, which mostly involved getting rid of about two big bin bags of leaves from the trees opposite and planting seeds, so far courgettes, cucumbers, tomatoes and strawberries. One day I came in, went to put something in the big kitchen cupboard and found out that at some point the freezer had been left open a little and the whole thing was iced over. That was a pain to sort out, thankfully only the stuff near the door had defrosted so most of the food could be saved, but it was hours of work to get it defrosted.
I still haven't seen any of the new Picard eps, which is all kinds of wrong!
I don't know if they'll still be up as she posted in Instagram stories, but I enjoyed Kristin's posts where she wore a BSB t-shirt and asked her daughters which one was Mikey and the first choice was Kevin. I can see it.

Date: 2022-03-21 02:56 pm (UTC)James is feeling so much better, he was even back sawing in the craft room yesterday. Though he's at the doctors later as it looks like he's developing an abscess on the back of his hand where they did the IV for his scan. Thankfully though that's not affecting him in any way.

Date: 2022-03-22 09:53 am (UTC)I half expected the wraps to be the wrong size when I got them, but nope all is well.
And thank you for the medical wishes too. They must have helped as we had a minor scare yesterday when James ended up seeing the nurse as the place they'd injected the dye for the CT scan had started to be infected and was tracking. But some steroid cream and that's eased a lot.

Date: 2022-03-23 04:59 pm (UTC)There clearly was something very wrong with that computer!
I hope going back to work is working well for James!
So good to hear Milo is doing so well!
Hooray for the new wraps!! The image of you as Big Bird makes me giggle happily :-)
And hooray for spring planting!! It totally sucks about the freezer though. I've had that happen to me too and it's such a hassle.
I completely disagree - Kevin never had knock knees!

Date: 2022-03-24 02:56 pm (UTC)You'd think after having so much replaced the computer would be fine, but nope. I'm so thankful I got insurance for it.
Both Milo and James are doing well which is great.
Big Bird was the first thing I thought of when I saw the leg ridges *g*

Ahahahaha. As much as I want to disagree I really can't.

After reading your more recent post I'm nodding at how prescient you were. *g*
Pip and I have been together for nearly 30 years, too! We met when I took my car to his (and his parents') garage because that's where my folks went, but our first 'date' was an American football playoff game (we rooted for the same team) and the day my one niece was born, so that's basically how I keep track of how long we've been together, lol!

That's a lovely way to get together, and much more wholesome than my story!
I like how you keep track timewise, that was a handy birthdate *g*
