Mar. 28th, 2022 01:33 pmIt was a very quiet Mother's Day yesterday, Corey was at work so I finally got a call around 6pm and we'd taken my MiL out for the afternoon on Saturday. James did ask if she'd not rather go out on the actual day but she said she'd stay home so could spend it with my SIL, so Saturday it was.
It was still a nice day though, the usual breakfast at Tim Hortons then a big shop as it was payday last week. An iced coffee sitting in the sunshine at Costa and then finally home, where after putting everything away I got to potter in the beautiful sunshine in the garden and plant more seeds.
Of course today the temp has dropped at least 10 degrees so now I've got multiple trays of seeds on the kitchen table as it's too cold for them to be outside, even in the greenhouse.
Oh, and Murphy learned how to turn the bedroom tv on. He must have stood on the control and not only turned on the tv, but turned it to a nature programme and turned the volume up to 99. I didn't even know it went that loud, well that is until I heard an elephant bellow from my bedroom.
One bonus, the clocks changing meant it was very quiet when we were out first thing, I suspect a lot of people were still sleeping while we were at the shops.
I didn't get my usual Mother's Day photo with Corey, so instead I'll share this one of Kayleigh, Bodhi and Lucy. Their first one and I wish them many happy years of pasta homemade cards and lukewarm cups of tea.

I also love this one of Bodhi and Lucy, where Bodhi is wearing her Mother's Day outfit.

I've also been binge-watching The Mindy Project. To be honest most of the time I actively dislike Mindy but this is a show I've been watching for well over a year as I watch an episode or two when I'm ironing. At this point, it's barely got any original characters left and is little like the show I enjoyed at the start, but when I realised it was only available until this Thursday I started the binge-watch and at this point have 9 episodes to go. Though thankfully they're only half hours.
Today it's cold and wet and I had to go post a stupid cube. As
sperrywink has permission to wag a virtual finger if I complain about getting out and walking I won't say I didn't want to go due to it being cold and wet. But man, it was so beautiful these last few days, and today is just, not. Stupid weather.

Date: 2022-03-28 05:06 pm (UTC)I can imagine hearing an elephant bellow from the bedroom would come as quite the surprise! lucky Murphy that it wasn't a *real* elephant, as while I'm sure he's brave, I'm not sure he'd be up for facing one in person

Date: 2022-03-28 05:28 pm (UTC)Murphy's timing was perfect, standing or flopping onto the control just as an elephant bellowed on a nature show. I still can't believe the sound goes to 99 though, that's ridiculous for a home tv.
But yeah, I can't see him facing down an elephant *g*

Date: 2022-03-30 03:47 pm (UTC)It was a lovely afternoon planting in the garden. There was something very soothing sitting in the sunshine and messing with compost and seeds.

Date: 2022-03-30 05:47 pm (UTC)Poor Murphy, he must have gotten such a shock when the elephant bellowed at him :-)
Awww, the photos of the young family are just adorable! And wow! Bodhi's grown SO MUCH!

Date: 2022-03-31 07:38 am (UTC)Sadly it's still really cold here, and snow is lying too which was a surprise. I guess we're both getting the same weather front, though I suspect yours will be colder still.
I'd like to think Murphy has learned his lesson, but I suspect not.
Bodhi is growing so fast. I suspect she'll be crawling soon and causing havoc.

Date: 2022-04-04 08:43 am (UTC)I don't either. It feels especially cruel after the beautiful weather of a week or so ago.
They're lovely photos. I enjoyed seeing them :)
