I went to Catpawchino yesterday. It's the sister cat cafe to The Pawsome Cafe in Durham and I had a lovely time. It's been ages since I've been since I usually go to Mog in the Tyne when we're in Newcastle but it was a beautiful day and they had open walk-in spots so off to the quayside we went.

Catpawchino is different to Mog in that they only have pedigree cats, with occasional rescue fosters who stay in the cafe for a while so people can meet them and maybe adopt them. They also have a sphinx cat called Simba who is amazing! It's the first time I've ever been close up to one and I always thought they were totally bald, but they actually feel like a peach and have really cold feet. I mean, look at that face! He's beautiful.



I also liked that the cafe replied to my Insta post, communication like that always makes me smile.

Today, as forecast, the weather has turned really cold and wet. I'm dreading taking my Oodie off and going down to the shops, but it must be done.

ETA: 18 degrees at the weekend, today it's 3 and snowing heavily. The weather needs to make up its mind.

I love I have four cat cafes I could visit locally.

I also like the dog cafe that's next door to Mog so I'm spoilt for choice really.

I was looking at the photo wall of cats that have been adopted while at the cafe yesterday. It's impressive how many have found new owners.

I'm not sure why, but sphinx cats kind of bug me. I think it's the wrinkles, and the huge ears (and I know why they've evolved that way, but they still look so odd)

Do you know, it's silly but I always feel slightly guilty not going to Mog when I go to another cat cafe. I hope they know they're still my favourite *g*

I have to admit, they do look both adorable and odd. When I was waiting to go in someone walked past and made a comment that Simba looked like he was inside out and seemed genuinely freaked out by him.

Simba's ears were amazing, they were huge! And he felt so soft and fuzzy.

My shopping was done fast and I was soon home, if wet through with snow.

Simba's *ears*!!! I'd love to have the chance to stroke a bald cat, though I do find them generally far less appealing than the furry ones. I can't believe you have so many cat cafés near you!

Simba felt different to how I expected, he was so fuzzy and unusual looking.

I'm always surprised that there are two cat cafes so relatively close in Newcastle, but they're always busy so must get the customers.

I want to go to the one in York next, apparently, it's over two floors and has lots of cats to fill the space.

I have to confess to finding sphinx cats quite off-putting. It's something about the enormous ears and the wrinkly faces that just looks wrong to me.

I feel for you! Cold and wet is so dreary and definitely not the kind of weather you want to go out in!

So that's where our snow went! We haven't had any more since Tuesday night but it's still distressingly cold and it looks like it's going to continue like that into next week. Were did our Spring go??!!

I'm really lucky to have so many cat cafes so close. Especially having two in Newcastle, which is probably unusual for such a smallish city.

You're not the only one as Dine isn't keen on them either. I guess it's not surprising they divide opinion like that as they are so unusual looking.

Wet and dreary is the worst. It's been cold today but it's also sunny and it's so much easier to cope with.

I was enjoying spring, but now it does feel like many places have slipped back to winter.
