Jun. 23rd, 2022 05:58 pmI caved yesterday and took the scissors to the stocking liners I wear under my leg wraps. I wear compressions all the time unless I'm in the bath now and as it's so muggy and hot I just couldn't do another night with my feet enclosed, so I cut the ends and had bare feet all night which was lovely. I have loads of the liners as I get new pairs each time I get new compressions so cut a pair of the old ones and, relief.
Sadly my feet have puffed up a little since the bandaging and I suspect at the next appointment they may suggest adding a foot piece to the wraps which will make me sad as I've always loved having bare feet. But, better that and keeping things under control.
I've spent time in the garden again this afternoon so taking a leaf out of
turlough and
spikedluv 's books, have some photos of my lilies, and of course,
I would never have lilies inside because of the cats, so I enjoy seeing these in the garden.

But compare that pot to the one below that has been attacked by lily beetles. They're horrible things, so destructive, but thankfully I've managed to keep them to one pot and seemingly, just a few beetles, unlike last year when every lily was eaten.

I wish I'd been a touch faster taking this photo as Murphy had his head on the ground next to Milo's until the moment I picked up my phone. But, instead, we get some Murphy tongue so not a total loss.

Date: 2022-06-26 08:12 pm (UTC)Your lilies are beautiful! Lilies are such elegant flowers. I'm glad you managed to keep those pesky lily beetles contained this year!
Why do cats ALWAYS move and spoil the fun picture you could have taken if you had been a little swifter with the camera?! They're such contrary little beasts :-) Milo and Murphy are still looking adorable in that photo. Milo all streeeetchy and Murphy with his little pink tongue.

Date: 2022-06-27 02:27 pm (UTC)I totally agree! Though, the clinic called me back on Friday and while they agreed a foot piece may be needed they think it could have been the extra hot weather we've had that's caused the swelling in my feet. So hopefully, the feet pieces would only be needed on occasions just to keep things in check, so I can continue wearing my homemade footless liners.
The lilies really are pretty. They've got such striking patterns, at least, the plants without holes do *g*
I still wish I'd caught Milo and Murphy make the perfect circle with their bodies. Murphy is too nosy and wanted to know what I was doing.
