I've had them thinly sliced and cooked like boulangier potatoes (baked in stock and herbs) or sliced and cooked as the top of a cottage-ish pie fairly successfully.

Both of those sound delicious, but I'm especially tempted by the first. That would work so well, and help get rid of some of the excess without just having a mountain of mash. Thanks for the suggestions.

Yeah, I realised why the ratings were like they are when I went to the counter and the woman just said there wasn't anything to pick up today. I thought they were just going to say get a refund at first, but the guy from fresh produce must be used to having to do a run through the shop to gather enough.

James seems better today, especially compared to yesterday when he literally slept from about midday, woke up to eat at tea time, and then went back to sleep again. But it seems to have done him some good.
