I finally dropped off Corey's Easter chocolate yesterday, and then we drove him to his local Lidl so he could do a big shop and then drove him back to his flat after. I helped him carry the groceries in, though with two flights of stairs to even get to the flat Corey managed many more trips than me.

It was nice to spend some time together, and it was while we were at Lidl, the emergency public alert test sent to mobiles came through. I was expecting it to be much louder than it actually was and also that the alert would hit all phones at exactly the same time, when instead they were going off at 3 and what seemed like a minute on either side.

Today it has been cold and sleeting and I do not approve! The weather really needs to sort itself out.

So after having to pretty much dismantle the hoover after sucking up one of Murphy's toy mice, I've been catching up on my surveys while watching two episodes of Fire Country and then revisited my fannish past by reading a fab White Collar fic by pensnest The Fundamental Things Apply

Now I'm looking forward to bath and read time so I can finish off a fic I was really enjoying. It's football rps which I started to read because a while back inlovewithnight, who wrote fabulous bandom fic, started to write in the fandom and I fell for her Jack Grealish/Jordan Henderson stories. Though Jordan being from my home city does keep throwing me a little when it's mentioned as I'm not used to seeing Sunderland mentioned in stories.

Anyway, she co-wrote and recently posted a long 45k slavefic AU which I'm really enjoying and I'm eager to read the end.

Yep! Days like that are perfect for just staying in, staying warm and reading. Though, I look forward to some warm sunshine again.

Yay for getting to see Corey finally! (I bought some on-sale Easter candy for my aunt and Pip snagged one, then asked, when is Easter anyway? I was like o_Oo_O you were there when we celebrated it, lol!)

We've had cool, cloudy days with rain and hail and I've also had enough, thank you very much. (Unfortunately, I've seen the upcoming forecast, and we are not done with it. *sad face*)

Corey's young and I know he can cope with the hours, but sometimes it feels like he works every day going. Then sleeps until late afternoon due to working nights, so it feels like an achievement when we can meet up.

Lol, I love that.

I woke up to frost this morning and yeah, had enough now. I've no desire to go straight to the really hot days like last year, but some warm sun would hit the spot.

Sounds like your weather is even worse than ours right now. Ours is just grey and drizzly with temperatures hovering around +8C. Sleet and frost is REALLY not what you want in late April! Hopefully we will both get better weather soon *keeps fingers crossed*

That is true.

I hope we do have better weather soon. I had to break the ice in the bird bath this morning which isn't something I want to be doing so close to March.

I didn't get the alert! I didn't even realise until about 4pm that I didn't get it.

I've heard quite a few people didn't get the alert. I suppose that's what the testing is for, but it does seem like a big fail in terms of reaching everyone.
