turpsWe went to see 'Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret' today and I enjoyed it a lot. Before we went James asked what it was about and still seemed puzzled when I told him, you know, like the book. It seems Judy Blume books weren't as important to him growing up as they were to me. But yeah, it did stay true to the book and it was such a good, lovely, coming-of-age film to watch. Set in the 70s but still feels current.
A bonus was we went to Metrocentre's Odeon and got tickets for the new IMax, laser screen and oh my goodness. What a place. The recliners were plush and so comfortable, everything felt and smelt new and the screen was so bright and perfect. It would be my new favourite screen if getting to Metrocentre wasn't such a pain to travel to, especially at weekends.
Tomorrow we're off to see Fast X and I'm looking forward to it. Not sure which cinema yet as we have to drop my SiL off somewhere first, but it'll be one of the Imax screens because those kinds of films are made for the big screen.
All the lights in the house tripped last night. I didn't realise until I was going to bed and tried to switch on the bathroom light. Never have I been so glad we paid that money to move and get a new fuse box. Before doing that fixing the fuse would have included getting the ladder and standing on the bench to reach the ceiling height fuse box, and having to change fuse wires. Last night all I did was come downstairs, open the cupboard door, lift up the flap to the fuse box and then push up the switch of the fuse that had tripped. So easy and a reminder that getting the electrics done was worth it.
