turpsI saw Fast X earlier and enjoyed it a lot. The thing with that franchise is I go in and pretty much switch off my brain and enjoy the extensive cast, explosions, car chases and sense of family. Which is exactly what I did today. I also enjoyed watching Jason Momoa ham it up, especially so as for the last month or so Kayleigh has announced he's her straight crush. So I got to tease her about seeing him, payback for all the teasing she gave me for watching Aquaman.
So yeah, it was flashy, very noisy, had lots of implausible set pieces but kept my attention for the whole thing. Way to go Fast X.
The rest of the day has been pretty decent too, though started early as Kayleigh needed to pick up James' wheelchair which he's lending to a family friend. It shouldn't be for long as the friend has already put in a request to wheelchair services, but she badly needs one, plus, we trust her to look after it, which is important.
After that, we picked up a TGTG Magic bag at the Sushi place, then went to Re.F.Use for breakfast where I picked up mushrooms and bread from the community pantry. We did consider getting another Waste Not box but we've still got stuff to get through from the one last week. Plus, we weren't going home until after the cinema.
Watched the film, came home and as it's a beautiful day all my washing has dried on the line which is always a plus. Though it does mean I have to water the plants before bath and book.
Also, not today, but I have 849 words of my intoabar fic :D

Date: 2023-05-23 04:16 pm (UTC)I can see why you'd think that. But yeah, lots about cars, but also insane set stunts that are wildly improbable but at the same time, keep your attention. Plus, the case is very likeable. As for Jason, he looked amazing in it! A total sociopath but looks good doing it. There's one scene especially where he has his hair in buns on either side of his head and it was great.

Date: 2023-05-23 04:18 pm (UTC)It was such a compelling combination. As a character, he really grabbed the attention, and I loved watching him all the way through. I mean, I didn't like him, but you can't deny he was a good foe.
