turpsI think my phone is trolling me. Each day it sends me a link to a memory from google photos, today that memory was a slideshow entitled 'better together' and it was a series of photos of Milo and Murphy together. And just, thanks phone.
I've put Milo's heated bed away. I was considering giving it away to the rescue for another elderly cat who could maybe use it, but when it came to it I just couldn't, not yet. He loved that heated bed so much and spent so much time in it, his head propped over the side and watching what was going on, or curled up tight and sleeping.
I also need to put away the two sets of stairs I bought so he could get on the couch and bed :(
Murphy is moping a bit and didn't eat at all for a couple of days, though ate a little yesterday which was a relief. It's the first time he hasn't had another cat in the house with him, and while he very much thought he was alpha cat and tried to lord it over Milo, they both slept curled up together. In fact, in bed it was James, then me in the middle, then Milo at pillow level with Murphy curled against him. I miss that.
We arranged for Milo to be cremated yesterday and we'll get his ashes back in a wooden box within the next ten days. I know some people don't like that, but I always feel better to have them back, and Milo will be safe at home with his sisters and Tex.
James has his spinal injections procedure this afternoon. It's a NHS appointment at the private hospital so hopefully, it'll all go as smoothly as last time. Then, after a bit of recovery, he should be able to walk mostly pain-free again and start the steps to getting back to work.
The weekend sucked but some good things did happen last week.
We went to see Haunted Mansion, which I enjoyed lots. And Strays, which wasn't what I expected at all.
I finished a fill for fandom giftbasket which I think turned out well, and now I just need to look up and see how you post fills.
I got an excellent comment about my Winterhawk bodyswap fic, though I have to admit when I got the comment my first reaction was, 'I've written Winterhawk bodyswap?' But yes, yes I have and I enjoyed rereading, which just shows it's good to write what you personally love.
It was Bodhi's second birthday, but I'll post some photos about that later as it doesn't feel right to have them along with the cat stuff.
