Oct. 21st, 2025 02:27 pmYesterday was the reverse on Friday in that my tumble drier was brought back, fully fixed, and Murphy came home, too :D
It was class first thing, and luckily, the vet phoned just at the end of that. But I quickly found out Murphy's scan was over, he was waking up and was fine. But most importantly, we could pick him up late afternoon.
Once James came home from work, we headed off to the vet hospital, and had a bit of a wait while they got him ready for us. When we were eventually called to a room, Murphy was in his carrier, swaddled in a blanket, with the vet's hoodie draped over the carrier, so he was very cosy.
His bloods were still good, he was passing urine and eating, but apparently has gravel like stuff in his bladder, which can stick together forming a stone like that one that got lodged. To try to prevent that, he has to drink lots of fluid and also eat specialist dry food that helps break down the urine crystals/gravel. James is picking some of that up on his way home from work, so I just hope Murphy likes it because it's not cheap.
In himself, Murphy seems okay, he's got a baldy belly where they did the scan and both front legs have fur patches shaved off. He's very clingy and hasn't left my side since he got home, also jumpy at any unexpected noise, no doubt worried he's about to be swept up and taken away again. But he's taking his pain meds nicely and has relaxed a bit as time goes on. So, hopefully, he'll keep feeling more secure.

James is also picking up some wooden crafty stuff on the way home. I can't remember if I said, but Lucy set up Palmers in Pyjamas TikTok which started with her Kayleigh and Bodhi reviewing different food, usually the viral TikTok kind. She's been quite successful and suggested James create his own TikTok to promote his pyrography, so he did, and the video he posted last week really took off. So much so he's got a few people ordering on it, which is kind of amazing.
