Date: 2004-01-15 09:38 pm (UTC)I realize that to your mind it is "maths" as opposed to "math", but that was my point. It =IS= a Britishism, therefore American boybanders would think/say "math" instead.
Again, it's just a dialect thing. I'm incredibly anal about details, particularly characterization details, so I feel that such things should be pointed out. American characters should speak/think American English. Spelling is one thing, I think it's funny to see the occasional "u" or "s" where American English would have no "u" or use a "z", but when it's an actual word/pronunciation difference, I think it matters. But then, that's my opinion. I'm entitled to it, and people should respect it, but it's up to each individual whether they choose to accept it themselves, or not.
