I'm reading through my mail and there's a few stories posted. On one list someone posted a *nsync story, and within a few paragraphs 4 of them were dead and the story was taking a nasty turn, so I deleted. Next up was a MX, it was posted to the list that accepts every kind of fic, so it was a risk, but I needed to scrub my brain of the last story. Why did I bother?

Tell me when writing a MX story why every OC has to have multiple mutant abilities? The main characters are one kind of mutant, yet all these OC's tend to be able to do everything. An elemental and molecular -- every damn combination available .Original character, thy name is Mary Sue. That was deleted too.

Thank goodness for Alee's hot Sentinel story. It saved my morning.

I'm pretty much brain dead just now, so I do a Friday 5. There's logic in that somewhere *g*

1. Is the name you have now the same name that's on your birth certificate? If not, what's changed?

Nope. I use James' surname now.

2. If you could change your name (first, middle, and/or last), what would it be?

I like my name, at least I do now. When I was younger I didn't. What annoyed me, and still does on occasions is that people seem to think my name is Teresa. It's not and never has been. I was named Terri, Terri is *not* short for anything. Plus there was that whole thing that Terri is a man's name, at least it is here. I could never get anything with my name on, like keyrings, because they were spelled Terry.

I'd also give myself a middle name. Not that I want one really it's just I'm the only one in my family that doesn't have one. I'm not kidding either, every relation of mine has a middle name but me. I'm positive my parents thought I was going to be a boy, so couldn't think of any girls names.

. Why were you named what you were? (Is there a story behind it? Who specifically was responsible for naming you?)

My parents were bikers in their youth and they supposedly named me after this bikers song that had the name Terri in it. But I really suspect that it was really Terry and they got caught out by my gender *g* Of course I can't tell you about my middle name, as they didn't give me one!

Are there any names you really hate or love? What are they and why?

I love Corey ( obviously) when I had him no one had the name over here, now it's catching on. I picked it because my favourite ice hockey import player had a son called Corey, and I loved the name when I heard it. I also love Bailey. I've never really thought about girls names.

Is the analysis of your name at www.kabalarians.com accurate? How or how isn't it?

Report is here )
It's actually pretty accurate, though it does make me sound like a flaky idiot. I especially like the inner turmoil *g*

1. How do you contribute to fandom (write, vid, costume, critique, archive, edit, organize cons, other)?

I write, mod a LJ community, own and maintain an archive and two other sites and beta ( badly)

2. Has your contribution changed over the years?

Yeah. I started writing, then wrote a lot more, then started to take on projects of my own.

3. What area would you like to contribute in but lack the resources (be it time, talent or equipment)?

I'd love to be able to do song vids. I love them so much but have neither the equipment, skill or time to do them.

4. What contribution of yours do you wish had received a wider audience?

My Mutant X stuff I think. It's such a small fandom that I'd love to see more people read what I write. But even that's not that important. I have some awesome friends in the fandom that keep me happy.

5. Which of your contribution are you most proud?

No doubt about this one. My Mutant X slash archive. At the time I started it there was no central gathering point for slash MX stories, so I decided to change that. I had no idea what I was getting into. At that point I had a geocities website and decided to use geocities for the MX site too. I created it with pagebuilder, no html needed at all. I e-mailed the author of every slash story I could find and slowly built up the archive. Then I started to worry about being TOSed, and decided to move to Populli. That week was a nightmare. I'd never used html coding before, or a FTP. I didn't know how to link the index page so it came up with my addy or how to upload anything. I sat for hours each day learning coding, nothing would go right, pictures moved, stories broke up and became garbled. I felt like crying so many times after I moved. But I kept on trying, and soon I could code by hand without thinking about it. My archive keeps growing and growing, and I'm so proud of it. It's not the most professional looking thing, no bells or whistles but I did every part myself. It's never going to the most popular site, I mean it's Mutant X, most people hate the show, but every once in a while I get an e-mail or someone will sign my guest map and it'll be worth every second I work on it.
