turps: (Goggles)
I was at a wedding all day yesterday, the one that's been causing all the strife in my house because I just didn't want to go. But we did, setting off early yesterday and travelling down. The service was okay, it was a civil service but the guy doing it was really nice so he helped make it special. It's just a shame about after. Instead of a sit down reception they'd booked a pub for the day and the SiL had catered a buffet, which was okay. But what wasn't was this horrendous wedding singer they'd booked too, he was terrible. I could only understand every other word he was saying and most of that was him taking the piss about of people which I hate. He never got clapped once and the one time a couple got up to dance he said after he thought they were going to collapse they were so old. I mean, if you finally get some dancers don't insult them.

After he finally went we had to leave the pub while it shut for two hours, because yes, we had to come back for the night time do. So in those two hours the MiL, FiL, niece, Corey, James and I ended up eating chips at the bitterly cold sea front while dressing in our best wedding gear. Sadly we had to go back but the evening was made bearable by a few bottles of cherry vodka, little ones though *g*

We did have to come home early as mam started to send dodgy text messages. She texted about 8 asking James if he'd pick her up from the pub then got in a strop because he couldn't, because hello, a few hours drive away remember. Which she knew. Next thing we know we get a nasty text saying our dog had pissed all over her house, she was fuming and don't we dare take him there again. So we came home and found that she wasn't even home yet and was in fact still sitting at the pub and had been all day. So saying that about Tex was one of her usual lies because we wouldn't pick her up. Which I should have known really.

Anyway, there was good points. Like James' speech going okay ( he was one of the best men ) which was good as he threw me off my computer the night before to write it. Also, my text porn ladies came through again! How I'd survive without them I don't know. I also managed to brazen out the looks I got when our camera was passed around so people could look at the pictures that had been taken, and yes, the bobbleheads rimming the KKbearA were still on there *g*

And now I go as I want to read the flist and talk to [livejournal.com profile] castalie.

So. I'm finally caught up and have found out a few things.

(1) Yes. I really did sign up for the [livejournal.com profile] sentinelsecrets challenge. This is despite not writing anything 'real' for TS in years. So yeah, eeep!

(2) Show me a challenge and I want to join it. *points up for proof* Which is me saying no doubt I'll join the reunion challenge. It's just a case of what deadline.

(3) Despite it being oh so wrong, I'll still devour pictures of Chris' house. Examining each one despite that little voice saying 'so wrong so wrong' At which point I smoother that little voice and go back to checking out the pictures.

(4) Posting innuendo comments never gets old. That is as long as you swap them with people who don't mind getting them. Which I suspect is probably everyone on my flist.

(5) The reason why it took nearly 4 hours to get to skip 175 may be because I spent twenty minutes staring at one Chris picture. Euro pictures kill me, man. My flist reading has gone, read, comment, starestarestare, and repeat over and over.

(6) Lance is getting to be one muscular guy.

(7) Chris' new ink is a thing of beauty and I want to see it clearly.

Lists as posts, so easy for lazy creatures like me ;)

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] ceci2176 If you couldn't tell that was me on your answering machine. I'm a dork, really I am.

I'm reposting this as I'm an idiot and changed it to private before I went out.

I'm putting out tentative feelers here prompted by a comment by [livejournal.com profile] satsuma77 but it's something I've been thinking of for a while.

All you Brit gals, I'm thinking of [livejournal.com profile] interlock, [livejournal.com profile] trumpeterofdoom, [livejournal.com profile] simply_fly_away, [livejournal.com profile] seiyaharris, [livejournal.com profile] satsuma77 [livejournal.com profile] urbanoceanix [livejournal.com profile] nopsued and [livejournal.com profile] buttercupsleep if you're around.

How would you feel about a meet up sometime this year?

Obviously I know some of you much better than others but I'm not scary, promise. A shy dork maybe but I'm more than willing to put people up. I have marionettes people. Check out [livejournal.com profile] _jules_ post for marionette fun ;) I also have more footage and DVDs you could shake a stick at as well as other non sparkly fannish stuff. If you're into X Files, Trek, Mutant X, Angel, Buffy and The Sentinel anyway.

Which means none sparkly people are welcome too, heck, anyone would be welcome.

Or another option is to meet for dinner in the midlands somewhere, being as I live in the frozen north *g* I don't know, maybe book into a hotel for a night for a mini sparkly con.

Like I said I'm not doing dates or anything yet, I'm just feeling things out because I'd love to see you all :)

Further to my post earlier I've created a comm to arrange a get together for UK fans this year. Though heavily sparkly because of my flist anyone is welcome to come and is encouraged to do so. That is as long as they understand there'll be much squeeing over sdbs ;)

So check out the comm, it's basic right now but that'll change, I promise.
