(no subject)

Today I'm going to finish my 1000 words story. The fact that I haven't even started it doesn't even matter. It will be done! Though, to be fair, I did start something but it wasn't working at all, so I'm starting afresh. I mean, 1000 words is nothing. And there's so much you could write using a water cooler as inspiration. So much!

I figured today is a perfect day to get it done because it's also newsletter day, which means I have the perfect excuse to open a file, eye it every now and then while secure in the knowledge I have actual other stuff to do.

Chris Month Day 19

I was wondering what to post today, then clear_my_eyes gave me a list that makes a perfect Chris day post. Thank you for that, sweetheart.

First she wanted to know my top 5 fan fics ever. I love many stories, but I eventually got these.

The Wednesday Thing by rhyssj Trickyfish. This is my comfort fic story. Which I know is weird because Chris is struggling so much. But he gets through it, and the others love him, and are there for him, and just. Them being friends is so important to me, and this shows that so well. Like here.

"If I could," Justin said, "I would pick you up and carry you through this. You know that, right?"

Oh, Justin. You make my heart sing.

Into the Fire by pierson Trickc. It's an AU where Chris and JC are shape changing Ravens, and the main character is Kevin and before anyone does a omg Kevin! reaction, the story is wonderful. But what gets me is the Ravens, Chris and JC love each other so much. Linda writes so well, her descriptions so sharp and she's just. I want to be a writer like her when I grow up. Look.
"You fucker," JC says, his voice rough. "If you ever tell me to run off and leave you again, I'll kill you myself."

Chris' mouth quirks up at one corner, the movement so slight that if Kevin hadn't been looking, he'd have missed it. "Since when do you ever listen to me, anyway?" Chris asks, his voice as breathy and light as a breeze.

"Never," JC says, and leans in to press his lips to Chris' forehead.

It's Chris and JC and they love each other so deeply and Chris wanted him to go and JC wouldn't and they're just soinlove!

Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow Fonder by mickeym and nopseud Trickc. I swear, those two looked inside my brain and wrote what I love. Sex and angst and h/c and kink and a story that had me on the edge of my seat for ages. The bit I want to quote is a huge spoiler for the story but just know, I hit this bit and cried. A lot. In a good way.

Mysterious Ways by pierson Choey. Everything I said about Linda above goes here too. This story is wonderful, long and plotty and I love Chris. I also really like how the secondary characters are in this too. You know a story is well rounded when you fall in love with even the background guys.

Lance unfolded and stepped forward, his pale green eyes sweeping over Chris, sharp and observant. Chris knew he couldn't hide anything from Bass, and so he didn't even try. Lance sighed, and curled one perfectly-manicured hand around the back of Chris' neck, and pulled him into a hug.

"You stupid fuck," he murmured into Chris' ear. "You did it anyway, didn't you? You never listen to me, do you?"

Wolves and Boybands Mate for Life by merryish Because JC and Chris are meant to be together. It's that simple.

Then Sarah asked for my top 5 Chris outfits. Which means ( pictures! )

I need to go grocery shopping now, but before I do. You may have seen the videos musiclover03 makes using her Sims skills. She does great work and this morning she presented me with a sparkly sims vid of my very own. It has multiple Chris'! And Lamps! And it's just fabulous beyond words and she rocks.
