Apr. 8th, 2020 05:04 pmThe final episode of Schitt's Creek was perfect in so many ways. I'm going to miss that show so much. I never thought I'd love it so much, and yet, somehow it worked its way under my skin and I fell in love with every single character.
Last night I was using the aloe vera soap I'd brought back from Lanzarote. I know you can get it here too, but aloe is such a thing in the Canary Islands that just smelling it reminds me of my holiday. The same as eating watermelon will always remind me of my first holiday to the Canary Islands, where we went to Gran Canaria and we'd buy watermelon from the small shop along from our hotel and eat it on the beach. No watermelon will ever be as tasty as those melons.
I never thought I'd ever fly, or leave the country, so it still amazes me that I've done so twice. And, will do so again, I mean, I have more Canary Islands to explore. People had told me of that feeling when you step out of the plane in a new country, the smell of unfamiliar air and heat, and now I know that first hand I want to do it again. Sadly I won't be experiencing that this year but I've been thinking of where we should go next time. I would love to go back to the Canaries, and I'm being serious about wanting to see the other islands. But, there are so many other places out there. Admittedly, the vast majority will be out of our price range, so anything long haul is out of the question, but elsewhere in Spain maybe. Often when asking for advice we've been told to go to Benidorm as it's so disability friendly, but it seems to be Marmite to people, some love it, some hate it. So I don't know.
But, I have all the time in the world to think about where to go next and for now can walk on beautiful beaches under the hot sun in my head at least.
