In your own space, make a list of things that you wish existed in fandom or elsewhere, and/or that you'd like someone to create or do for you. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I'd like to see more people come back to 'don't like, don't read'
I'm lucky that I've only had minor negative comments to my fic, but I know of so many people who have been hurt because they've attracted targeted negativity.
It's even easier now that tags are used so extensively, if you don't like something, don't read it. It seems like such a simple concept and yet so many people seem to not get that.
It's okay to dislike something. Some of my long time and good friends haven't read all of my fic because they don't like the tropes, pairings etc and that's fine. That's how it should be.
It's not okay to dislike something, go and read that thing you dislike and then attack the writer. It's something I'll never understand.
As for what I want for me, there's nothing really. I mean, I wouldn't turn down a h/c epic-length Musketeer/Mikeycentric/winterhawk story but really, fandom and the people around me here have been pretty great to me and I'm quite content.
I guess one thing I can ask is, if you enjoy a fannish work, a graphic, fic, rec list, comm, anything, tell the creator in a manner that feels comfortable to you, be that kudos or comment. It'll mean a lot I'm sure.
