Bodhi is home and doing very well. She'll need a post-op check up but fingers crossed, once that is done no more hospitals or cyst.
James is getting better. Past that initial time when he feels horrendous and onto gentle walks so he doesn't seize up, though still needs a lot of rest. Thankfully we have lots of suitable places close by which have nice walks and lots of places to sit. So we've had lots of walks at the beach and also to Crook Hall, the National Trust property at Durham.
That was a lovely day. The North East had been blanketed by thick cloud most of the last week so we had temps around 13 while the other side of the country were in the mid-20s. That cloud lifted at the weekend and the weather has been beautiful, and was when we were at Crook Hall. Last time we were there was autumn, so it had changed a lot flower-wise, with the walled garden being especially beautiful.
Another change, they've added a second-hand bookshop, and one sort of on trust as it's in part of the old hall, and you take your selected books to the reception hut to pay for on the way out. Let it be known that there were a load of Christmas-themed books and I left them there. Mainly because between the mail survey and Pauline, who gave me a huge bag of books last week, I'm drowning in the things.
We've also been to the cinema to see The Little Mermaid and the new Spider-Man film, though I pulled a James on the latter and either totally spaced out or dozed off watching as I somehow missed a full fight scene. Not the films fault as I liked it, it's just been a long few weeks.
We finished binge-watching the episodes of New Amsterdam we'd missed and I liked the final episode. It ended the series well. Last night we started on a catch-up on Chicago Med, two episodes down, 47 to go.
It's my second youngest niece's birthday today so we're off to meet up with my in laws and eat out later. Just a local chain pub restaurant she likes but it should be nice.
Cheap but excellent things I bought recently. New Mango flavour Pepsi Max, which is delicious. Also, finally got a new clothes prop so the clothes don't drag on the containers under the washing line and two silicone liners for the air fryer which were a game changer cleaning-wise. So, I give myself a self-awarded adulting gold star.
