Jun. 27th, 2004 12:25 pmI was asked a very important question earlier. Can worms swim. We decided that they probably floated and that seemed to settle the matter *g*
I got a kick ass beta yesterday so the JC ficathon will be done on time and much better than my first draft. It's funny, I used to hate editing but now I don't mind it, seeing all the weak spots exposed and wondering how to fix them is a challenge that I'm starting to enjoy, especially as I know it makes the story stronger. Now I just have to get started, I'm trying to catch up on the flist and answer comments at the moment.
Thinking of that story, will anyone be able to read it for Briticisms later today? It shouldn't need a traditional beta as
interlock did all the hard work, but it's always good to have a native of the country you're writing in check it over.
People that e-mailed me off list last night. Thank you, I appreciated it a whole lot.
Now I'm going to do something productive, really I am *g*

Date: 2004-06-27 04:39 am (UTC)For answers to all the worm questions you never thought of asking (or that you never thought you'd have to answer *hehe*), check out the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Worms page (http://www.dnr.state.mo.us/alpd/swmp/worms/wormworm.htm). *giggles*

*nods* I agree with you (which is good since I have lots of weak spots in my fic *hehe*). It depends a lot on who's helping you edit, though.

*nods* Okay. I'm gonna do the same. *coughs* ;-รพ

Date: 2004-06-27 04:41 am (UTC)Woo! for the story being almost ready. I made a lot of progress today, so I'm feeling better about it than I was. I'm going to need a check for Australianisms, too. They slip in when I'm not looking, I swear.*g*

Date: 2004-06-27 04:58 am (UTC)I'm so happy the story is almost done, especially with time to spare. Go you too!
Man, I keep thinking I've got my American words straight, then I'll post something and I'll get comments like 'Americans would never say things like that' Which is why I get my stories checked if I can, because like you they slip in when I'm not looking ;)

Date: 2004-06-27 09:38 am (UTC)Worms are cool and I've discovered the swimming thing depends on what kind they are. How you tell that I have no idea *g*

Date: 2004-06-27 09:47 am (UTC)You mean some insane person wanted TrickC! I hope you gave them hell for that choice. Then again that person who didn't like JuC may be having to write JuC ;)
Are you coming to visit your roots? *g*

Date: 2004-06-27 09:50 am (UTC)I'll send it your way.
Things are good today. I phoned my brother and found out what he really thinks so we can stay united. That way she can't try and undermine us by saying he doesn't approve which is what she was trying last night *shrugs*
It's her loss in the end.
Thanks for asking.

Date: 2004-06-28 03:22 am (UTC)Thanks also for the worm page, we've been checking it out *g*
Yeah, I totally agree that it depends on who edits. I'm so lucky to have people who I class as excellent editors and also friends. Which means they don't give me any bull if my stuff is weak.
