Jul. 19th, 2004 12:25 pmLast night mam phoned down to say something was wrong with Brock. He's our family dog and is really old for a dog, 15 I think. He has a twisted right front foot, a tumour on the other, arthritis, his teeth are all ground down to nothing and he's covered in lumps and bumps. But he still chases after a ball all the time and loves to go for walks, even if it takes him a long time to walk a short way. Last night he started making these noises, so I went up when mam phoned and he couldn't walk hardly and kept making this horrible whine when he tried to move. I honestly thought he'd be dead by this morning, but he wasn't and has been to the vets. They've given him an injection and he seems to have perked up a little.
Man, my journal's a laugh a minute lately.
Corey broke up for the summer on Friday, so I've seven weeks of cartoons and assorted boys to look forward to. James may be taking him camping for the weekend soon with some of his friends. They asked if I wanted to go but as much as I enjoy going out for day trips etc the thought of sleeping in a tent is something that doesn't really appeal. So I may have a weekend on my own at some point.
I was thinking about recs this morning after seeing
call_me_loca asking for some. I didn't give any because whenever I see someone asking for recs my brain goes blank and my brain is sort of like 'Chris...pixy stix...Lance....bdsm....dogs....grapefruit...Joey' and on and on and on. There's so many stories I love that narrowing it down is almost impossible. Plus I'm terrible at titles.
castalie has this freaky brain that can tell you a story title in seconds, and I'm so impressed with that. Hell half of the time I can't even remember the titles of my own stuff.
These archives that you have to click a pop up saying that you're over 18 before you can read a story. Why? What do they expect them to do? Stop someone underaged from reading after seeing them? I don't think so. All I want is to read some hot sex and those pop ups get in the way of that. I know it's only seconds to click on them but it's my annoyance and I'm going to bitch about them, just because I can. Then I won't have to bitch about the people I've seen while friendsfriends surfing who are bloody insane. It makes me appreciate my own flist so much more when I come back to it and there's no one that thinks Justin is the devil himself. I know some of you dislike him but you don't do whole posts about what an evil bastard he is.
I also hate when you're googling for a specific thing in a story and your own pops up in the results. It's just one less thing to read. Okay, I'll stop whining now *g*
castalie, Kayleigh was talking about cucumbers today and I couldn't resist joking about them. Thinking about your QAF conversation you know? She just didn't get it at all. I guess you need to be a special kind of pervert to appreciate the cucumber jokes ;) Which makes me want to see QAF. Is it Tuesday yet so I can download the ep?
I remembered the haiku generator after seeing it in
silveryscrape's journal. I don't usually post the results but this one made me laugh. spread in front of him that creates so many delicious images in my mind.
Did any of you TS people get a mail from someone saying a French author has sued Petfly? Because I did and I'm a little confused. The mail was CCed to a lot of TS people I recognise but I don't understand why they sent a mail full of French articles to me. For one I can't read them and it's not like I'm anyone known in the fandom to ask about things like that. I wonder if they expect an answer?
I'm going to try and get the TrickC done today and start on my in-box. I should tidy up a bit too, everything was left over the weekend and the house looks like a bomb dropped. Of course what will probably happen is I'll sit here surfing LJ and reading, I'm nothing if not predictable. I think that's it for this post, and what a post it was, rambling, whining and cucumber jokes. The story of my life really *g*
