I always enjoy conversations that end up discussing why Spongebob Squarepants is square. It seems the answer because he's called Squarepants isn't good enough for Corey, especially as SB's parents are round sponges *g* In good news Brock is better, he went to the vets again today and the injection he had yesterday loosened him up. Mam and Kay have a set of exercises they have to do with him to make sure his legs don't stiffen up again, which sounds fun.

I was talking to dad last night and the funeral is on Monday, as it seems a lot of people are dying lately, which I have to agree with. In the last few weeks my next door neighbours to the side and front of the house have all died as well as granddad. So yes, I have to be there at 2 on Mon so James and I can go in one of the official cars, which I'm not looking forward to at all. Personally I'd rather be in our car instead of the official one with my brother and cousin. But I'm going along with it as it's what nanna wants. Then there's going to be a gathering at her house after. I just hope it's not raining as her place is tiny and it'll be full of relatives that I've seen maybe twice in my life. I'd rather stay in the garden and keep out of the way, then I won't get the inevitable 'you've got such a pretty face' and 'Christopher is the tall skinny one in the family I see'. Because you know it always happens and it's bloody rude.

I've been cleaning again today. I seem to do that when I'm down, I think you could guess my state of mind just by seeing my kitchen floor. Discovery of the day was the knobs on the hob come off, which means I don't have to try and clean under them with a cloth wrapped around a knife. You'd think it was obvious they'd pop off but it really escaped my notice until just now. I guess I'm just not made to be a domestic goddess. I try sometimes, like my phase of subscribing to the Fly Lady thing, which in principal is a good idea, but man, I hated that bitch within days. Get dressed to your shoes as soon as you get up. I don't think so. I only wear shoes when I go outside, as soon as I set foot in the house they're off. Then the e-mails drove me insane. Like I said the principal of tidying in bursts is good, but I'd get resentful at being sent mails saying 'get up and do a flash tidy now' especially as they were aimed at a US time zone. If I'm sitting late at night I don't want an e-mail telling me to clear up after dinner. Just shut the fuck up lady! I had my dinner hours ago. Oh well, at least I tried.

I responded to most of my recent comments last night, still a few to go. As I was replying I kept thinking I sounded so lame, but I wanted to tell you all how much the comments meant, so if my reply sounded trite, I'm sorry. Thankfully it seems the TrickC went over well too, I'd sort of dropped into a 'OMG your writing sucks' state of mind yesterday and lost all perspective on the story. I'll send it off to be tidied up today because I have a feeling it needs something else at the end. I think I'll have to try something darker next time, I seem to have had a run of sweet stories ;) I'll have to go see when the challenges are due first though.

Jo's angry JC challenge 1000 words -- 8th August
Cliche challenge 1000 words -- 6th Sept
JC ficathon -- 30th June
Josh's BD story -- 18th July
Boxes -- Ongoing
The End -- Ongoing

8th of August! Damn! I need to get writing I guess.

Before I go, you should all go read [livejournal.com profile] bachelor_girl's story, Smile because it's wonderful. It's Chris and Issac from Hanson and it's all about braces which fills me with glee and the ending's wonderful and so's bg for writing it. Even if you don't read Hanson slash go read, go on. Then when you've done that read Old Man and Shorty because Chris and Kevin need to be slashed more often *nods*

It went okay in the end.

Lots of relatives and small talk, but thankfully it was hot so I kept out of the way mostly.

Thanks for asking.

*hugs back*
