It looks like the wind is dying down at last. We got off lucky, some tiles blown from the roof, one of which fell on our picnic bench and smashed it in half and a fence that's wobbling like crazy. The old lady across from us wasn't as lucky as her whole fence is down and the whole of the shopping centre was closed off earlier when a building collapsed and chimney pots were blown down. The only problem we have now is getting someone to fix the roof and fence as one, we're broke and two, the repair people are swamped.
I'm going to sort out Joey pics now but first have the
ouch, definitely the kind of weather where you'd better stay home, preferably in front of the computer or TV. Then again and now that I think of it, it's sorta always that kind of weather.
Well damn, I'm watching the news right now and they're showing some scenes of the storm and its consequences and it's scary!! Glad everything went okay for you and the family, sis.
Ye Gods, we had a fair old storm this morning, only ours came at 4am, which really was not fun. I was awake and looking at the weather outside, trying to decide if I really wanted to get dressed and go do some overtime at work. After about 5 seconds of soul searching I decided to go back to bed. My neighbours had their fences blown over, a couple of trees went down in the wood behind my house, yet my parents annoying novelty garden ornaments were left undamaged. Weird.
