Re: Of course I've only read your TS stuff...
Date: 2005-02-20 08:37 pm (UTC)It's such a senses based story, and that's awesome because it fits right in with the theme of the show. There's all these little details, the robin, the coming spring, little things Jim should see but didn't and you explain that so well by saying With my Sentinel vision, I can *see* so much more than you can -- but you *noticed* so much more of life than I ever did That's such a great line and sets the tone for the whole story.
It hurts to read about Jim and Blair being apart, they're meant to be together, and it's wrong that they're not. You write Jim's guilt so well, peeling back his feelings and showing how he's trying to change. I have to admit this story makes me teary at times because of the wrongness of it all. Jim waiting at home as Blair wanders with little money and taking dead end jobs. It really is an emotional piece, not so much a smack in the gut but a slow ache that will only be solved by a reunion. I love it a lot, and love it even more knowing what happens after :)
As for me, thank you. I'm so glad you still like my stories. I still consider myself on the TS side of the fence a little because of Sentinel Thursday. I still have a lot of love for the show and the guys, I think more than anything I became disillusioned, with the fandom, the constant 'the old writers were best' spiel. Not that that's the only reason of course. I love the people in popslash fandom and I really think I've improved a lot as a writer. I guess I should prove that by writing a full length TS story again one day.
I'm just thrilled that you still want me to write them, that's such an ego boost you know, so thank you for that.
